Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, I grew up in a big, loud, Greek and Italian family. I have three younger sisters and one older brother, and we're all pretty close in age. My dad moved to the states from Greece when he was 23, and started as a bus boy, speaking no English, and then eventually moved up to server, and has owned the same restaraunt now for....25 years? I was practically born in the kitchen of that place, and literally, had a playpen set up in the back. As soon as I could write, I started working there, as did all my other siblings. I wasn't the greatest employee though, and my dad fired me four times for having an attitude either with him or the customers. Maybe that explains why I've been fired from nearly every restaraunt or bar in Nashville....maybe I shouldn't be talking about this. Now it's great though, I go home and love going back to work there. It's so different for whatever reason. Maybe cause I don't feel trapped in it. And the food is just to die for, of course. Anyway, moving onward....I realized my purpose in life when I was in 2nd grade and Miss Solecki brought a guitar to school and played and sang for us. From then on out, it was pretty much all I could think of or dream about. I side-tracked to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater to get a degree in education because I was always good with kids and I was told I needed a back up plan. My senior year though, I decided if I got that degree, I would settle into the life of a teacher, (and probably be perfectly content), and never work as hard as I needed to, to make it in music. So I dropped out and moved home... started messing around on the guitar that sat in a corner for a couple years, took lessons from the amazing, sought after vocal coach in Chicago, Janice Pantazelos, www.professionalsinging.com, saved some money being a full time nanny and singing in cover bands, and moved to Nashville. Now I'm up to my eyeballs in debt, and barely get by on a songwriter's salary, but hey...that's what I signed up for, right? Its all I have and it's all I want to have. I've been here a little over 3 years, signed my first publishing deal last May, and am currently in the studio finishing up a project with the phenominal John Willis. I have no exact plan or timeline, I just work work work, and pray pray pray that the good Lord opens the right doors. I fall down every now and then, and get stressed or scared, but every day, I start again, and ultimately, I believe God planted this passion for music inside me for a reason and and I believe He will get me where He wants me, when I'm ready....© AV_layoutssurfourspace.net premade layouts
