She's a Nightbird

About Me

I'm from Georgia, I have a peach tatoo =) I'd like another one (tatoo that is), but don't know what I want yet. I like honesty, creativity, authentic people who follow their own beat and listen to their own heart. I don't like to be bored or boring. I love to sing and write music and am so lucky to have done so much of that in the last couple years! And also to have made so many incredible friends here in Nashville. I recorded an independent album as a solo artist a few years ago with a very talented man Eric Fritsch, Eastwood Studios. All the songs were very autobiographical and things I had lived and I guess needed to say. Now I'm off on a new project that I am VERY VERY excited about. My good friend, and co-writer Andi Zack and I started a band called Nightbird with Ryan Mims and Levi Sims. Think Fleetwood Mac. but a little country... Oh that makes me so happy =) Please check us out (myspace.com/nightbird) out and let us know what you think! And always, ROCK ON :DMy song GOODBYE GOIN' DOWN was selected by Billy Block and 103 WKDF as one of the Top 10 Best of Locals' songs of 2007. Thank you for your votes! The song will be included on the 2007 compilation album.

Band Members:Penny's album UNDAUNTED available! $10 + $2 S&H... just send me a myspace message and I'll tell you how to order!! You can listen to clips at cdbaby.com/pennydaleMAVERICK MAGAZINE says Penny Dale "has a powerful mix of rock, country and southern roots on UNDAUNTED... Recorded in Nashville with players like Al Perkins (pedal steel), Ward Stout (fiddle), Park Chisholm (bass) and producer Eric Fritsch (guitars, mandolin, banjo and keyboards), Penny takes us on an emotional roller-coaster ride with the hard-driving Happy End, southern rocker Til the Day I Die and softer Georgia Time. Due to it's limited availability this album will have to be sought out by those who are prepared to give a little-known newcomer a chance: It's well worth the effort, however, for this most rewarding listen."
Influences: STEVIE NICKS, FLEETWOOD MAC, Bruce Springsteen, PRINCE, Olivia Newton-John, The Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, David Allen Coe, Hal Ketchum, Dixie Chicks, Evanescence, Live. I love headbang to AC/DC, CLASSIC ROCK (Boston, Bad Co.), and I love to dance my little booty off. Also love John Mayer, Nancy Griffith, Mindy Smith.
Sounds Like: A little bit of everything that makes me who I am... My young heart was stolen the day I heard Rhiannon for the first time, an album passed down from my older sister (14 years older than me). Mesmerized I played it over, and over and over. To this day, I still do, and I still am... mesmerized. I've heard I'm a cross of Stevie Nicks and Natalie Maines.
