NightBird

With harmonies reminiscent of the best that have come before, but still entirely their own, NightBird is creating their own brand of country music. Three lead voices, each uniquely coming together to form one new sound. Part of that sound comes from their writing experience, as the band has written all of the songs they perform. "We just want to create something real, that moves people, and we hope they will feel that in our music." Only forming in the last year, the band is already making a name for itself in Nashville playing venues from the Bluebird to 12th & Porter, and just opened a sold-out show with Jason Aldean, at the Knoxville Civic Center. "You know when things just feel right and they aren't a struggle? That's the way this band feels to me," says Penny Dale, a Georgia native, who's earliest influences were Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles, getting into country music later with everything from David Allen Coe to the Dixie Chicks. Levi Sims, a Louisiana native, grew up on good old traditional country music, and was a child prodigy appearing on Star Search at eleven and soon after began opening for Mel Tillis in Branson for several years as a teenager. Ryan Mims from Alabama, also grew up on traditional country, but was influenced by all kinds of music from Roy Orbison to the Beatles, which you can hear in his pure tone. Each voice, though different, fit together like a puzzle to create something new and unique, that's never been heard before. The band has recently signed with Big Street Entertainment Management.
