We are here for just a moment, only to be carried away in the whispering wind.

About Me

Currently, I am available and looking for a gigging band, fill-in gigs, and studio work. Some musical history from the past few years includes work with Volcano Kings, Big Amp Envy, Stone Cold Blues (Blues/Rock), Lil' Sister (Country Blues/Country), the KokoVoko Cannibal Ramblers (Roots/Country/Swamp Blues), The Harold Ambler Project (Acoustic Rock), The Taren Yelle Band (Soul/Jazz/Blues/Funk.) and other projects over the years. My recording projects are with Stone Cold Blues (Blues/Rock), The Harold Ambler Project (Acoustic Rock) the Taren Yelle Band (Blues, Jazz, R&B & Soul) and many others over the years. Teaching the drums is something that I really love. I've started a collection of Vintage snare drums. I usually find old drums on-line in need of repair and or refinishing and restore them taking care to keep them in their original form. My intention was to re-sell them but I put so much labor into the restoration process that I end up adding to my collection. I started playing the drums seriously at age 16 in 1972. I studied with local Jazz great Artie Cabral for three years and played in different bands over the years. I play all styles influenced by the words of the late great Buddy Rich who said "There is no such thing as a Rock drummer, either you're a drummer or you're not". What this meant to me as a kid was I better learn to play all types of music if I want to play drums! Now after 30 + years of playing and studying various styles, I'm comfortable playing a little of everything. I'm motivated and determined to expand my playing and recording over the next few years. I ride an Antique 1971 Yamaha 750 XS B1 motorcyle "when I'm not restoring it" and chase as many women as I can at my age. My dog "Chloe" is a Bernese Mountain/Labrador mix and is as crazy as I am. Consequently, we're best of friends! Music is my life and I work a 9 to 5 to pay the bills so I can play the drums.Drum Gear:I play Premier drums, birch shells with one (12" X 11") mounted rack tom and two floor toms (13" X 12") and (16" X 15"). The bass drum is (22" X 19"). Remo Ambassador coated heads on the batter side and Remo Ambassador clear on the resonant side on all toms. Evans EQ3 heads on the bass drum. The snare drum is a Ludwig (14" X 6") Brass & Chrome made in 1985, with Remo Ambassador coated on the batter side and Remo Ambassador clear on the bottom. For hardware I'm using a DW 5000 single bass drum pedal and a DW 5000 Hi-Hat stand. Tama heavy duty, double braced single and boom cymbal stands.Cymbals are Zildjian 22" K Custom ride, Zildjian 14" K Custom Fast Crash, Zildjian 10" A splash. Sabian 14" Hand Hammered Hi-Hats w/sizzle bottom, Sabian 16" Crash, Sabian (two) 8" Splash cymbals.Cases are custom made Solid Sound semi-hard vinyl, a SKB hard shell snare case, Zildjian 22" cymbal vault, Zildjian stick bag.Mics are AKG D112 bass drum mic, (4) C418 Condensing Studio/Live Micro Mics with Monster cables.Roc-Soc big seat throne. My other kit is a Vintage 1964 Rogers "Holiday" Cleveland Era consisting of an 8 x 12 rack tom, 14 x 14 floor tom and a 16 x 20 bass drum. These drums have been in my family since they were new. Nothing beats the sound of these vintage drums!
