About Me

You sound like Chrissy Hinde, so I love you. Call me
Mac, General manager Ground Zero Blues Club, Memphis, TN
Every time I listen to you play, I just love that tone. Very very nice! Keep it up!!

If her long legs and sexy accent are not enough, this girl can play!! And she's so fun and unique!"

MY BIO
Funky, soulful, sexy and groovy, that is Eef. This dynamic lady clearly belongs on stage and will make every performance a happening!
An Amsterdam native, Eef started her music career in The Netherlands in 1990 with the all-girl band 'Eelkse Medde'. This band played Top-40 coverhits, and was popular in dancings throughout the country. Three rock-cover bands followed before Eef came to the US in 1999. Here she discovered The Blues and Eef was sold!
It did not take long before she joined several blues bands, and in the years to follow, Eef developed into a soulful lead guitarist, singer and songwriter, resulting in her debut album 'Aqua'. Aqua was released in October of 2008 and gets great reviews in Colorado as well as overseas. Rootsville in Belgium says it's "stunningly beautiful", the CO Blues Society praises its production & the pureness of the guitar play, and the album gets airplay on the local stations, as well as in France, Belgium and The Netherlands. 'Aqua' places Eef smack-dab in the middle of up-and-coming blues talent in Colorado and surroundings.
On stage, she will put up a show that you will not easily forget, this girl can play! And other people have picked up on that: apart from performing with her own project 'Eef & Friends', she plays with three other bands in Denver, grooving the Colorado stages every weekend. Through her lively performances, Eef has build a loyal following, and is steadily earning a reputation as one of Denver's grooviest and most soulful blues guitar players.
She is now taking her talents to The South and overseas, and intends to touch blues fans where ever she goes with her unique, soulful style. Eef is hot, Eef is groovy, you will like her!
MY CD
With 'Aqua', Eef has put a magnificent debut album on the market. [..] The sublime "Tina G" and heartbreaking "Choice" seem to have been written for Sade Adu, but it is our own Eef who brings these songs just as charmingly. [..] This album most probably has cost her blood, sweat and happy tears, but the result is subsequently stunningly beautiful.
Rootsville, Belgium
I am pleased with Eef's debut CD. It's a fine blending of funk, soulful blues and a nice brisk shuffle. [...] Despite the multi variations of musicians, this record is cohesive and uniform. It's a testimony to the production and songcraft that is at work. [...] It's good to know that good Blues can come from the most diverse places, either side of the "pond".

Eef & Friends This is my own 'thang' to allow me to play my originals. Taking this on the road and overseas starting this spring.

The Mike Kaylor Band I am the lead/rhythm guitar player for this band, as well as (backing) vocalist and business contact. Mike is a genius recording artist from Tennessee and he's making fame here in Denver as we speak.

David Booker's band and swingtet About every other week on Sundays we play a 'swing gig' in one of the last remaining real swing rooms of the United States. David is now taking this band further to perform blues gigs as well. With Chris Harris on bass and Kyle on drums this band is super tight!!!

La Femme In the works and very promising. All Female motown band with Sethe from Soulschool as one of the front ladies. This band's gonna fly!!

Female All-Star Revue. A Woodward productions all female project that plays for events and on special occasions. Professional and fun!

Vocals:
Diane Krall, Anita Baker, Alisha Keys

Songwriting inspiration:
African beats; club-groove from overseas; latin-jazz; wrong men in the right place; right men in the wrong place....

All over:
Stevie Wonder is the man! Eric Clapton too :)

CD's & songs I currently listen to:
Luther Allison - Live in Chicago; Eric Lindell - Multiply; Marisa - Portuguese fado; Jason Mraz - I'm yours; Cheikh Lo - Lamp Fall
Sounds Like: 'they' say I sound like Chrissy Hinde & Susan Tedeschi on the vocals, and like Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Buddy Guy on the guitar. That combi would be a rocky-result, but my originals are funky, chill and soothing. So...., I guess I got my own sound :)
