Herr�ng Dance Camp (HDC), originally started back in 1982, is since many years the leading and most comprehensive African-American swing dance camp in the world. It was from the beginning initiated by some members of the Stockholm based Swedish Swing Society and was for many years a small and national event gathering around 100 students per year. Things started to change however in the early 90's when the camp suddenly began to attract more and more foreign visitors and the amount of students rapidly increased. At around this period of time the event also stabilized its dance-wise three main priorities: Lindy Hop, Boogie Woogie and Tap. In recent years Balboa has stepped up side by side with these three and is today to be counted in as an important part of the HDC.
A big share of the world's leading teachers will be there. A big share of the world's swing dancers will also most likely be there. We venture to assert an interesting and quite different experience in the borderland of organized chaos and swingin' escapism. Welcome to celebrate 25 years with us this summer.
