It all began in 1991 after being hard on the dance scene
and influenced By Dj Small (Spiral Tribe) Mikey (Microdot Crew)and international
Dj / Producer "Freak", Susannah teamed up with another underground dj and co-hosted
3 shows a week on the best pirate station in the north to date "DREAM FM"(as
featured in mixmag magazine) it wasn't llong before susannah gained her own
shows and from the exposure of being on such a renouned station susannah played
numerous clubnights and after hour parties in the Yorkshire and Humberside area
playing house music.
In 1996 Susannah changed her dj name to Phatt "Susanna"
Mack and her style of music and went on to team up with "Da Bacchus Cru" together
this team started the UK Garage scene in Leeds and susannah appeared at all
regular clubnights nights such as "Bacchus", "Parkers", "Funkin Sundaze" ....
not long after she knocked Mitch & blend off their spot and took over residency
at " D.O.P.E " the best Uk garage and Drum & Bass night in leeds, through that
she gained respect and residencies and became the only female to do so in the
Uk garage scene in the yorkshire area ... she also teamed up with Dj LG doing
back 2 back residencies as well as putting on her own clubnights and shortly
after was being handpicked to compete in the Dj Battle Contests " Undercover"
to see who was the best dj in the north. In the year 2000 through sheer hard
work and determination Susannah earnt herself the reputation of being the norths
no1 female garage specialist and was 100% rated by male and female dj's on the
northern garage circuit she also held down regular shows on pirate radio stations
People's Fm , Genesis FM and guested on Power Fm., that year she also teamed
up with fellow producer Richard "Korby" K aka K-MIndz ( Enigma Jam Recordings)
who she had known since the Dream FM days and was asked to be part of the moving
beats collective.
This was a busy time for susannah as she was aproached
to become personal assistant to Dj Freaks Record Labels " Hard as Hell " & "Bonebreakers"
and was doing Music Journalism and office work for "Northern Base" A UK Garage
related website. In the year 2000 susannah was offered a place within Blueberry
Records after contacting them regarding their releases and went on to market,
distribute, and promote for them, this started to circulate her name in other
area's and it wasn't long before she was being headhunted to run workshops and
teach Dj technolgy.
2002 - Due to the increasing voilence, susannah decided
to leave the garage scene and go back to her house roots, more and more companies
were seeking her out to teach for them and susannah was enjoying the workshops
and Dj Technology programmes she was producing... so decided to come away from
the residencies to concentrate on other area's of the business. These days susannah
abreviates her dj name to "PSM" meaning when a change comes into effect which
she feels is relevant to the styles of music she plays ( Soulful, Funky, Deep
house) She is the only female Dj Technology Tutor in the Yorshire area and regulary
teaches for 5 companies, also Director of 53rd Degree Records, Resident on SS-Radio-
UK, and features as a guest dj at events all over the UK. 2006 will bring forward
her re-mixes, her own productions. and she will providing a SS-Radio- UK Clubnight
in Leeds.
