Marking out territory on Sheffield's leading pirate radio station Fantasy FM in early nineties amassed Robert critical acclaim. Notable sets covering everything from Electronica, House to Drum & Bass, and all genres in between. Sets often spanning 12 hours in duration.DJ sets on club circiut soon followed, playing alongside the likes of Aphex Twin, Luke Vibert, Alex Paterson and DJ Lewis (The Orb), Richard H Kirk and many more during a 2 year residency at The Arches (at time credited best club night in UK, The Guardian guide) Reputation praised by Wax and Ministry magazines led to other notable sets including Glastonbury Festival and Turnmills, London (to mark debut EP).As a new Producer, Winning the prestigous In The City/Muzik award as best unsigned UK Dance Producer with debut recording, was followed by a strong list of production credits from leading magazines Future Music and The Mix. Interest also grew amongst labels including Rotation Records owned by legendary Techno producer Dave Angel. Robert under then recording name RETROFLARE signed "After the Rain" EP to London based label Special Needs Recordings (006) quickly selling out and meriting a repress, this record supported by major DJs including John Digweed and Dave Angel worked its way around the best clubs worldwide and charted in the top 40 best club records of the year.This chart is compiled by Mr.C (The End/Bar AKA) and all tracks are charted by dancefloor responce for various dj sets at various venues including: U.F.O at Es Paradise, Dance Valley at Amnesia, Ministry of Sound at Pacha, Charlies Angels at Summin, Circo Loco at DC 10, Bora Bora, Naif, and El Motel (all Ibiza). Also Bam Festival in Barcelona and Keeper 21. Release also made it to collectable Tech House 01 compilation (Choice Recordings) and featured on Downgrooves.com - Club Education vol 1 mix.Robert is now working on various album projects with numerous vocalists, under BAD HAIR DAYZ guise and has recently worked in France with Brit award winner (best album of year) and multi platinum Producer James Sanger (Dido, Keane).Recent remix work includes Bad Hair Dayz House mix of classy Acoustic/Folk act Sleazy Cherubs' "Looking At The Floor" and London based Urban Funk outfit Freefall (Jazz Cafe live) with a laid back lounge mix of "You're The One" (Bad Hair Dayz, Soul Laid Bare Remix).
