Television:

Television formed in New York City in 1973. They are one of the earliest examples of American art punk. Their music featured Richard Hell and the dueling guitars of Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd. Members of Television reportedly constructed the first stage at CBGB's. Now go listen to them.
