Born and raised in Cardiff, South Wales, The Gentle Good fuses the mystical sounds of Welsh folk music with the syncopated rhythms of ragtime in a guitar style best described as 'plinky-plonky'. He sings in Welsh, English and sometimes Spanish. The Gentle Good has performed at Festivals such as Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau, The Green Man Festival, In the City and South by Southwest. He also plays banjo for a country band called Silver Spurs and is known for his fondness of playing too fast.
Mae Gareth yn hoff iawn o chware'r gitar. Mae e'n ffindo fe'n anodd iawn i rhoi y gitar i lawr ac felly mae e yn aml yn hwyr i pethe. Yn ddiweddar mae e wedi bod yn dysgu chware'r banjo, ac mae'r cymdogion wedi ei bygwth gydas ASBO (neu BASBO) os ydy e'n parhau i chware. Nid ydy Gareth yn poeni ac mi fydd yn eithaf falch o gael banjo asbo (BASBO) cyntaf Prydain. Mae e'n chware cerddoriaeth traddodiadol a gwreiddiol yn yr iaith Gymraeg, y tafod Saesneg ac nawr ac yn y man yn Sbaeneg. Mae Gareth wedi perfformio mewn gwyliau fel Y Sesiwn Fawr, yr Eisteddfod, Gwyl y Dyn Gwyrdd, In the City a South by Southwest. Mae e hefyd wedi recordio sesiwn byw i Radio Cymru sydd ar wefan C2. Mae Gareth hefyd yn chware banjo i'r Silver Spurs - sef band canu gwlad gore Splott, ac yn mwynhau yn fawr.
