A Modern-to-Retro, Pop/Psychedelia Musical Salad!

About Me

Friends, Romans and Greeks: Lend Us Your Auditory Nerve!!!
The self-titled debut CD from PUBLIUS is here!
$11.99 (US) + shipping at CD Baby
With retro psychedelic overtones, classic moog synths & vintage gear, Publius captures the warmth & realness of live studio performances by recording on 2" analog tape. The deeply emotional playing of Publius brings the listener along for the ride.
A captivating 16 page full color booklet of unique urban photography and original CD artwork is reminiscent of early rock album art.
A & R firm TAXI says, "The cohesive lyrics keep the listener engaged and convey the emotions well. The musicianship is solid, tight and fitting and the production sounds good... P.S. Really like the art work."
Ken from Good Cop Bad Cop says, "Publius, the self-titled debut CD, is generally characterized by numerous apparent fragments - "touches" if you will - woven together from many varying "classic rock" and 80's influences; the result is a modern-to-retro, pop/psychedelia musical salad. Publius' penchant for live studio performance and analog recording techniques has imparted an organic richness to this project- No icy "techno" vibe here. Publius, the CD, is highly musical and well crafted both in musical performance and recording/mixing; the music ranges from ethereal & "trippy" to just plain fun."
Publius intentionally uses vintage equipment to achieve a classic analog sound. Damon Burke, Publius' primary songwriter, producer / engineer, and a passionate audio geek, favors the sounds and techniques used in the 60s at Abbey Road and Trident Studios, and the likes of Walter Sear, Bob Moog, Brian Wilson, Bill Putnam, George Martin, Allan Parsons, Tom Dowd and Les Paul, to name a few. Publius plays live in the studio, as a band. No ripped off samples or cut & paste loops here. It's one performance all the way through.
