About Me

Jon started his career in his teens as a Capital recording artist recording several hits with the band Industry. He then worked with Bryan Ferry on Bryan's Boys And Girls album including the hit Slave To Love. He performed with Bryan at the original Live Aid in London where he met David Gilmour of Pink Floyd ( who had joined Bryan on guitar ). This spawned a twenty five year career of producing, writing, studio work as a multi-instrumentalist ( he plays guitar, bass, keys, drums, sings and programs with equal ease ), and live performance. His list of credits is eclectic and varied.For most of his life, Jon has played with Pink Floyd. He co-wrote the hit 'Learning To Fly' and has played on all of their studio and live albums since, also touring the world many times with them and recently performing with them at Live 8 in London's Hyde Park. He is one of the only people to have also played with Roger Waters with whom he has toured and recorded extensively, and is part of the ongoing work on Roger's new album.He works and tours with Pete Townshend with whom Jon has produced several albums and also with The Who, performing with them at the Concert For 9/11 in NYC and touring with them (including Quadrophenia ) and recently performing with them for the 4 Seasons Of Hope charity event in NYC.He has also played, produced, recorded or written with many others including Martha Wainwright, Psychedelic Furs, Trashmonk, Soul Asylum, Live, Love Spit Love, Dream Academy, Gipsy Kings, Kashmir, Eddie Vedder, Fields Of The Nephelim, Rick Astley, Micheal Kamen, etc...He has been involved with film projects with David Gilmour, composed and produced the title track for the movie Rat Race, and contributed to The Invisible Circus starring Cameron Diaz. He has been involved with projects for Amnesty International, Greenpeace, Knebworth ( Nordoff Robbins ), fundraising events playing with Seal, Elvis Costello, The Chieftans, Sinead O'Conner, Lou Reed, Hugh Cornwall, Spinal Tap, Daryl Hall and others.Jon has produced and written an album with Richard Butler ( singer of the Psychedelic Furs ). He is playing all of the instruments. It is available as 'Richard Butler' on Koch Records. He is also part of the ongoing work of Roger Waters' new album as well as developing new projects with Perry Geyer of Cybersound including writing and producing an album with Boston based Brendan Little.
