IN THE FLESH - TRIBUTE TO PINK FLOYD is Arizona’s premier Pink Floyd tribute show. Formed in early 2005 by bassist Andy Robbins , this exciting nine piece band performs faithful renditions of Pink Floyd classics that represent all periods of the Floyd’s career. The In the Flesh live concert experience is stunning 2-hour plus show that regularly thrills large and enthusiastic crowds of Pink Floyd fans in the some of the most prestigious music venues throughout Arizona and beyond. This authentic concert experience is delivered with a diverse mix of Pink Floyd’s repertoire performed with stellar musicianship and showmanship by accomplished, professional and dynamic musicians.
In the Flesh is comprised of members from international touring artists from bands such as Holy Soldier, Bo Didley and Death and Taxes. The band also consists of members of notable Phoenix bands like Stream, Jeff Jones ’ Mosaic and the now defunct Pink Floyd tribute band the Great Gig in the Sky. Founding members Andy Robbins (bass, guitar, lead vocals) and Michael Cutting (lead guitar, lead vocals), are joined by Gene Faith (lead vocals, lead guitars), Bruce Donaldson (keyboards, Hammond B-3, piano, programming) Jerry Gray (drums, percussion, vocals), Jeff Jones (saxophone, bass), and backing vocalists Jenn Taber, Patty Lynch and Gigi Dixon.
In the Flesh performs "true to the original recordings" renditions of Pink Floyd’s material. The band alss occasionally performs songs in the fashion of how Pink Floyd presented certain songs live. From the soaring Gilmour guitar solos to the atmospheric keyboard interludes, to the intense huge female backing vocals - this stellar tribute show absolutely delivers it all!
In the Flesh has quickly become one of Arizona’s top tribute acts. Within two years of being together, the band has already performed shows at prestigious venues like the US Airways Center (home of the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Road Runners) , The Marquee Theatre, Alice Cooperstown, etc., and the band continues to gain great momentum and increase their strong following.
Pink Floyd celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2006. Most music enthusiasts know that Pink Floyd not only one of the best all time selling bands in history (with combined worldwide sales well over 200 million albums and still selling strong), but they are also one of the most creative and experimental bands in rock-n-roll history. Since their beginning in the London club scene till today, their music has always been in high demand. To many, the music of Pink Floyd is undeniably some of the best songs ever written.
With a one off full scale reunion with their original bassist and chief songwriter Roger Waters at 2005’s Live 8 Festival in London, to individual world tours for Roger Waters and guitarist David Gilmour the music of Pink Floyd has resurged in the spirit of their dedicated fans and also enticed a whole new generation of younger and newer fans.
