About Me

I play lead guitar in Blue Fuses, a Surrey-based weekend rock covers band, doing mostly 70's - 80's stuff - from AC/DC to ZZ Top via a number of bands with colours in their names, particularly Black, Pink and Purple. Click the link to our website to see where we're next playing. The only reason I play at all is cos I love to. Playing in front of an appreciative audience and making music, are totally addictive and I don't ever intend to stop.I'm also in The Alternators, another Surrey based band with a leaning towards classic song-writer sorts of things - you know - Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Richard Thompson, Tom Petty, Van Morrison plus some original material, written by singer, Keith Elford. The Alternators also have a myspace page - see my friends below and click the link. The songs here on MySpace are my own compositions, recorded solo, at home. They were written and recorded for the sheer enjoyment of it. Hope you enjoy them too.I'm a gear and guitar junkie and have put details of all my tools on my blog, for those of you who are interested in matters technical. Thanks for being here and good luck with your own music.Love and peas.

Pedal Power

For as long as I can remember, I've loved effects pedals. My first pedal board was a piece of wood I found in my Dad's garage to which I screwed a Kimbara Fuzz Box, a cheap n nasty wah wah and a phase...

Amps

For most of the last 10 years or so, I used a 4 x 10 Fender Hotrod Deville combo,  60 Watts.  It's a fabulous amp and plenty loud enough for any gig. The trouble with it is the weight. Lugging it to t...

I've been good to myself...

For my 50th birthday, Mrs Douglip and I went to Reykjavik for four nights and had a splendid time. Saw the northern lights, although only very dimly and also the south of Iceland, an area we didn't ge...

Richard Wright - R.I.P

It's just terrible to lose a loved one, a relative, a friend or a hero. My sympathies go to everyone who knew and loved him. Rick Wright was a hero of mine. Words can't really express how I feel ...

What’s so Funny ’bout Peace Love & Understanding

Depressing isn't it? Yet another war breaks out. Civilians have their homes reduced to rubble, lose their loved ones and are terrorised by another government. Doesn't that make the Russian leaders&nbs...
