Natural Mama Vintage Goth Savonnier At Large

About Me

I am an artist. I grew up in NYC, moved to beautiful Colorado which I called home for years, and now I live in the subtropical Gulf Coast with banana trees and sugar cane growing in my yard. I make luxury natural soap, creams, incense, perfumes and other wonderful smelling things for a living. I use as many organic, wild grown, naturally grown, ethically harvested and fair trade produced raw materials as possible. In many cases I source them directly from the distillers, farmers and producers.

My Interests

In addition to loving what I do for a living (making soap, incense, and other wonderful smelling things) I love gardening (especially heirloom and medicinal plants), cooking, vintage clothes, doing web "stuff", retro raunch, Ren fest kinda stuff, etc .. I play musical instruments (including bass fiddle, electric bass, didgeridoo, bongo drums, and most recently I am teaching myself to play the concertina - so I can eventually teach my 3 yr old who got one for Yule how to play it), I sort of collect swords, study ancient cultures as well as the retro styles of our own culture, etc ....

I have a diploma in Herbology and Aromatherapy. Maybe, when the time is right, I will to go back to school for several degrees. Or, maybe I'll become a self made independently wealthy woman without going back to school.

I am for the most part into natural living as far as eating and the household go. Yeah, we're all gonna die one day, but as I see it we might as well avoid self induced illness and misery from what is supposed to be our sustenance and cleaning supplies while on the Yellow Brick Road to the the Emerald City of Eternity.

I try to raise my kids mainstream enough so they won't be ostracized and made fun over stupid crap, but also "natural" enough so they wont' become vidiot junk food McMunchers, and respectful enough that they won't become hoodlums that are boils on the ass of the society (there are more than enough of those around).
I cloth diapered both kids, practiced extended breastfeeding, made their baby food (and still make their food to this day), I didn't circ' the boys (they can make such choices about their parts when they are old enough to understand all about their parts), I did the whole AP (Attachment Parenting) routine, and I am an informed non vax'er.

I wish I could sew much better than I do 'cause the style of clothes I want are either not available or if they are, they are quite rare, custom made and expensive.

Music:

There is WAY too much stuff for me to to list! I guess I could say that I enjoy anything under the sun as long as its good .. and although I love to hear wonderful singers, I really dig instrumentals.
I am partial to: true funk, jazz & fusion, blues, classic punk, psychobilly, ska, acid guitar, classic surf guitar and the beauty that is surf saxiphone, zydeco, 70's uncastrated rock, 60's psychedelic & heroin chic, 50's rockabilly, instrumental bluegrass, some "modern alternative" (although, as more comes out, I like it less and less *lol*), classical (symphony as well as chamber music) & even some opera (Andreas Bocelli - what a voice)
.. For some killer jams check out
Colonel Claypool's Bucket Of Bernie Brains!
