My name is Jack DeBaun (AKA Smilin' Jack, or just plain "JD.")I have banged on things from pots, pans, pillows, small fluffy animals, as of the last few decades, a drum kit or two.By now I have been called a "seasoned veteran," which just means I am getting old. From playing Cerritos garages to the early 80s Los Angeles punk scene with CH3 to singing overseas in black gospel choir (you read that correctly) to spending the 2000's playing endless number of dives and roadhouses playing blues and rockabilly, I have had sticks in my hand has long as I have held utensils.I have played with, or shared the bill with, Fear, TSOL, Circle Jerks, Minor Threat, Social Distortion, Exploited, Kraut, UK Subs, Husker Du, Crying Out Quiet, Ricky P and the Blues Monsoon, Blues Straight Up, Big Box of Men, Greg Serrato, Archie Lee Hooker, LA Jones, Joe Houston, the Oozie Blues Band, Danny Dean and The Homewreckers, The Lubricators, Greg Weins' Blue Vision, Jeff Ross, Joe Wood, The Reverend Horton Heat, etc...Presently, I am the backbeat of Danny Dean and the Homewreckers, The Mighty Mojo Prophets, Mother Road, and an old fart punk band called ANTI.Besides my love of the blues, my sanity consists of Jesus Christ, my wife, Leslie, and my daughter, Cambria.I will continue to sit in with an assortment of blues players in the LA area as long as they will allow me.
