About Me

Debonee Morgan is a licensed psychotherapist with a private practice in Long Beach, California. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, she is qualified to treat individuals, couples, and families, as well as facilitating therapeutic groups for healing and growth. All appropriate clients are welcome, and encouraged to call about treatment.

Like many helping professionals, Debonee tends to centre her work around particular kinds of clients. Because of her academic and personal background, Deb has a passion for Diversity. What that means is, people are don't really flow with the mainstream, people who sometimes struggle with a sense of identity that may put them at odds with family and friends, people who really want to know who they are and be themselves. She is especially concerned with the spiritual lives of individuals who may have a hard time with the commonly talked about "values" and ideas about God. Diversity and Divinity don't need to be exclusive.

LGBT Community ~ Debonee welcomes Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered clients to a safe environment to explore orientation/gender identity issues, coming out, couples therapy, family relationships, sex, and spiritual matters. Click here to learn more...
Rock and Roll / Artist Community ~ Being a 'creative type' sets you apart, and brings struggles that are unique to those who bring soul to life. Debonee is familiar with creative blocks, family relationships, life goals and financial challenges of the artistic industries. Click here to learn more...
Mid-life Women ~ Anyone who's been there knows that women get more ballsy and interesting with age. But how come our culture hasn't figured that out yet? Debonee offers an encouraging place to bring out the sassy, saucy, kick-ass woman that you know you could be - if you only had permission. Come and get it! Click here to learn more...

Debonee is in the certification process as an Interfaith Spiritual Director. She is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and a former Board Member for the CG Jung Club of Orange County.

In the past Debonee has worked with Family Assessment Counseling and Educational Services (FACES), helping kids who go between two homes after divorce, and representing their interests within the legal and social work system. She has taught Parenting classes and conducted support groups for divorced parents. Debonee also spent several years in practice with Valerie McIlroy, a certified Jungian Analyst in Newport Beach. Based on the theories of pre-eminent psychiatrist Carl Jung, Debonee leads training workshops for other therapists in the application of innovative and artistic treatment modalities.

Debonee is the mother of two stunningly wonderful teenagers (this is an objective opinion), seniors in the Radio/Film/TV program at CSU Fullerton and the Visual Arts program at the Orange County High School of the Arts. She plays electric bass (Rickenbacker, natch!), writes plays and poetry, sings obnoxiously, and reads voraciously ("Anything & everything by Palahniuk or Chris Moore").
