The MBM was created to provide an additional place for ALL Michigan metal bands to promote their shows and to act as a middle man to connect bands from across MI and around the MidWestwho may never have the chance to meet otherwise.
BANDS are encouraged to send me their shows which will be promptly added to the upcoming shows list on the MBM page and also to get your friends to add the MBM and support the causeFANS are also encouraged to check the MBM page often for shows in their area and to take a listen to some of the very best metal bands Michigan has to offer.MBM Showcases will be held periodically and are designed to provide the fan with a top quality live show featuring hand selected MI metal bands thatto be bluntdont suck ass. In my many years of checking out live local shows, there is nothing worse than going to a venue hoping to see a great show only to be forced to sit thru bands that quite honestly have no business being on stage. I realize that these bands need a place to play in order to fine tune their skills and live performances and that everyone has to start somewhereit just wont be at a MBM show. This coupled with the over abundance of live venues in the Detroit area and the top notch bands either not knowing one another or just being to scattered around the area in my opinion this has created the lack of a metal scene in and around Detroit like there was back in the late 80s and early 90s. My personal goal is to try and help change thatI want to provide fans with a sure thinga live show they will remember and look forward to the next one.a live show they will know they can go to and be entertained from start to finish. From there, word of mouth will do its job and these MBM Showcases will hopefully be known as THE shows to attend and thus the quality and size of MBM Showcases and the scene in general will have no choice but to grow.
These shows will be heavily promoted by the MBM and the same will be expected from the bands. I will provide each band with 4x6, full color, two sided fliers to distributewe will of course use Myspace to the fullest as well as some limited print and radio ads when possible. Bands WILL be compensated for their performances with the MBM taking out whatever is necessary to cover at least some of our expensesas I have no intention of profiting from any of this. Guest hosts for the shows are a very strong possibilityScreamin Scott from WRIF has already graced us with his Jager drinkingI mean hosting skills and has pledged to be involved in the future.I will also try and do my best to help out any bands in any way I canwhether it is booking shows, promoting, demo reviews, show reviews, finding new band members, helping book out of state showswhatever it is, if I cant help I will try and find someone who can.
