Harpos opened back in 1939 as a movie theater with room for about 2,000 people. The 70's held something different for this old movie theater where it became the place to be on a Saturday night for doing coke and listening to disco. We still have the original light up disco floor and we still let it shine every once in a while. Even rap music had a special history with Harpos. Outkast, Lil Kim, and Snoop Dogg got their Detroit following right here. After all of these years Harpos is still going but now with bands like GWAR, Slayer, Dope, and Theory of a Deadman (just to name a few). We treasure and support our local bands and our followers. Harpos is a place to sit back, drink a few beers, and watch your favorite rock and heavy metal bands blow your fucking ears off. So, thank you to the loyal fans of Harpos for letting us survive so many years. Keep checking back at our site for updates on new information and upcoming shows.
