The Michigan Musicians Network was established to bring Michigan Musicians together in one place where they could Network, give advice and learn more about the music business. There is strength in numbers and that is the best way to pull a music scene out of an area where the music scene seems scrambled and void.
MMN is an on line music community that hopes to one day become a live and vibrant community and music scene with monthly meetings and seminars to further educate musicians and lead them down the right road in the Music Business. Whether you are new or old to the business, you can always learn from others.
MMN have hooked up with some informative names like David J. Spangenberg [Professor Pooch] out of Philadelphia PA, who is a Music Business Consultant and specializes in Entertainment Contracts. Professor Pooch frequents the site regularly and is often right there to answer any questions on the music biz. He has also written a book called "The Music Biz" which he offers on CD along with several courses on different aspects of the music biz, from artists to musicians to songwriters to producers and more. You can get more information about this on our web site. Also linked to MMN is David Hooper out of Nashville TN. David is also a Consultant and brings to the site the "David Hooper Daily MusicBiz feed" which features a different article on various topics on the music business every day. Hooper has also written many books on the business. Both these gentleman have their own web sites but also choose to be a part of the MMN.
MMN also offers several products at a discounted rate just for being a member (Which is free by the way). One of the newest products is the "Indie Band Manager", a computer program written and developed by Charlie Cheney also a Michigan resident. His program is a "do it yourself" band manager. You have to see it to believe it.... it covers everything. I personally have and use this program and am amazed at what it all covers.
