About Me

"The Fall Of Troy"

so this is it. after 5 short years, miles on end has run it's course. as of now miles on end has ceased to be. all of us have very bittersweet feelings about this decision. we toiled over this for quite some time and felt it was in the best interests of all of us to stop while we were ahead.
we had the time of our lives touring and recording. some of the best memories we have are of playing all over the country, driving the van, in various studios, practicing, writing, fighting, making fun ourselves and making fun of you. these are things that will remain with us until we, as well, cease to be. this may seem slightly over dramatic, but to us, nothing is closer to our hearts. we've had A LOT of fun and met A LOT of great people all across the country and we would not give that up for anything.
as for a "farewell show," we'd rather close this chapter as it is rather that trying to force an addition. perhaps we may see you again...as miles on end or as some other band.
so...with that said...
see you soon! we love you!
forged in the flames of the long burning fire that is the still-raging omaha music scene, the members of miles on end have announced themselves as a vibrant and important new presence. with a sound defined best as unapologetic rock, miles on end spurns simplistic categorization in favor of an all encompassing heritage.
while the guitar-laden riffs are fashioned from such artists as jimmy eat world and thrice, the insightful lyrical style owes much to acts like omaha's own cursive. make no mistake about it, miles on end is influenced by many, but a carbon copy of none. Their capacity for blending thoughtful words, precise instrumentation, and limitless energy has resulted in a sound that is unlike any other.
having shared the stage with such notables as my chemical romance, brandtson, fall out boy, and criteria, the group set out on a west coast tour playing numerous shows in los angeles, denver, salt lake city, and phoenix.
when fiction fails is the first studio effort since the bands inception in october of 2000. full of grace and fury, the album is a cohesive reaction to disquieting realizations.
guitarists aaron friesz and joshua dube provide the potent riffs that vocalist david utterback rides along. bassist darby frey and drummer chris crutcher provide a distinct rhythm that allows the album to place listeners into a specific moment. with when fiction fails, miles on end don't shyly announce themselves, but rather demand attention.
