In the unpredictable world of rock and roll, its hard to stay in the game, let alone on top of your game. Yet, in spite of the turbulent nature of their medium, Stavesacre has remained a driving force in the unpredictable world of rock. Nine years into their history fans, critics and peers alike point to Stavesacre as a steady source of musical inspiration, passion and integrity.
Stavesacre formed in 1995 from the burgeoning Southern California music scene. The group formed with a shared vision for creating a band that would rise above the landscape du jour to communicate a greater concept of the perfect rock album. Over the next four years the band released three albums, Friction (1996), Absolutes (1997) and Speakeasy (1999) (Tooth & Nail Records). During this short 3-album run, the band also garnered a solid domestic fan-base spanning from coast-to-coast, as well as abroad in rock-aware, soundboard countries in Europe and Oceania. After these records came Collective (2001), a look back at their T&N releases, then the self-titled Stavesacre (2002), the band's fourth full length album on Nitro Records.
Ever the working band, Stavesacre toured consistently from the start, spending months at a time in venues in North America and Europe. Equally comfortable in small clubs and large arenas, as the headliner or support, their shows are an opportunity for their fans to experience their sonic vision first hand. They do not disappoint.
The band has long been considered by Southern California music press and thousands of ardent fans to be the best band you've never heard of, due to the group's fervent underground following. Excellent songwriting, musicianship and a full throttle live show have established them as a rock tour de force.
