many supporters (and non supporters) of impeachment approach me with this question, and id like to address it first and foremost (mainly because i hear it way too often to constantly reiterate.
they say, "if we impeach bush, that means cheney takes office. do you want that?"
my answer to that is simple. no.
this is why we are callling to impeach bush and cheney both. they both have commited impeachable offenses (see below) and they both deserve the boot.
this leaves the speaker of the house, nancy pelosi to take the position.
since we've elected a democratic congress... now is the time. this is when impeachment becomes a possibility and this is when it becomes a necessity.
although pelosi has spoken out against impechment, with enough public outcry, our democratic leaders will have no choice but to listen.
a democratic congress will NOT issue rubber-stamp approvals of unconstitutional acts by the bush administration. and a democratic congress will NOT ignore us either. not if we make enough noise.
