About Me

LATEST RECORDING on CD

Hello dear people... fellow musicians, friends and such: I'm Jennifer. I play piano, and toys... drums, chimes, sticks... and of course my voice.. which is a kind of imprint of my soul. I write, arrange, travel deep into things. Describing my way with music, I would say that I reflect the familiar (my sort of pop side) and then for some reason, perhaps due to some bolt that's loose in me, I will tend to take the music into unexpected turns. I'm not one for cliches too much, musically or lyrically though some do it well. I guess I feel artists should feel free to take the opportunity to go beyond being a reflection of something they've come across and get down to what is more specific to them.
I like to get my hands and soul into everything, knobs, dials, arrangement, faders... i.e. "control freak"... or perhaps I'm just someone who has a specific vision. If I can become more of a master of recording itself, then I get closer to giving you my music the way I intend it to be. Currently, I'm putting out my 5th CD, Full Moon in 3.. a very special album which was the soundtrack that ran through my blood through a series of intense and amazing life changes. We've put up a couple of the limbs of it here. I was a little at a loss as to what songs to post because they are very different from one another and each is it's own special universe. It's always a bit strange tearing the songs apart from the whole, which is the album. So perhpas you will take this as an invitation to check out the CD so as to experience it in it's fullness.
Other stuff.... I'm the mom of the very special Phoebe Moon Ray who just turned 2 this summer. She'll be coming along on my October European with me and my love, where I'll be playing a bunch of countries. I'm excited to eat the blessed stroopwafels of the Netherlands as usual and very stoked that I will get to experience Ireland for the first time. So things we do and what, who we really are... what I'm mainly trying to learn right now is how to be in real time, take in the process, live fully.
So anyway, I'm glad you are here. Thank you for listening and connecting with me. I'm looking forward to getting to know the combination of us.

Much love,

Jennifer

"Not everybody can be both scary and vulnerable; Jennifer Terran (pronounced tearin') can. The scary part is her voice, which spirals into regions so high you fear she'll disappear or crash, and lately it has acquired a diamond-dust edge that can saw through a stack of hearts, first of all her own."- LOS ANGELES WEEKLY (US)

***********

"FULL MOON IN 3 is a remarkable, beautiful and haunting album an original, sincere and moving musical masterpiece. It also marks Jennifer Terran out as one of the most creative and distinctive singer/songwriters around at the moment. Why CDs/Albums are so much sweeter than MP3s

Strange that technology should lead us into an inferior experience of listening to music. But dearest people, the albums (CDs) in their natural state is the best way to "get:" this rather than fragmen...
