About Me

"Her sumptuous piano (think 1969 Elton John) and languid, full-mouthed singing style is a positive comparison... in a league with Joni Mitchell. Ms. Juskus already has admirers taken in by the siren call of her radio-sensuous production and the dreamy quality of her vocals, and this disc in general... As adult music goes this is quite beefy."
-- Jack Rabid, The Big Takeover
Joanne Juskus was chosen as one of 6 "BEST UNSIGNED BANDS OF THE NORTHEAST USA" -- Best of Baltimore -- by Amtrak's Arrive magazine (March/April 2006 issue).
"File under heavenly voices," says Albert Garzon, former producer for 10,000 Maniacs, of Joanne Juskus, an accomplished pianist, vocalist and songwriter. The Baltimore, MD songstress' voice has been compared to the purity of Annie Haslam (Renaissance), the innocence of early Joni Mitchell, with the tonalities of Kate Bush.

Chosen as a Top 10 Favorite of the Year by The Washington Post, Joanne has performed at such venues as Merriweather Post Pavilion, New York City's Living Room, Bitter End and Knitting Factory, and Musikfest. Her live performances have been called "a mesmerizing sound not to be matched" (Dawson Concerts) and "incredibly compelling" (Frederick Festival of the Arts). Says Sally Thorner, Baltimore's WJZ-TV Eyewitness News anchorwoman, "To hear Joanne's voice, you notice an amazing talent. She is just hypnotic."
Joanne also is a member of Telesma, the amazing electro-acoustic psychedelic tribal world dance band.
