Build A Future In Kenya is a registered charity based in Eastbourne (UK), which was set up in 2005 by a British volunteer trying secure a future for orphaned and disadvantaged children in Kenya. Since its conception Build A Future has been supporting By Grace Disabled and Orphans Centre. This is a ramshackle orphanage in the slum outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya, which is desperately in need of funds. Despite lacking all basic amenities, By Grace is now home to 170 children who have been abandoned, abused or orphaned by AIDS. By day, the orphanage doubles as a school run by local and international volunteers and welcomes a further 100 children from the surrounding area as it is the sole local source of a free education.Build A Future is now moving in a new direction with a view to establishing a new orphanage in Nairobi. The team has joined forces with a British woman living in Kenya and the plan is to provide a safe haven for abandoned babies, whilst searching for adoptive parents. As yet there is no database for Kenyan orphans eligible for adoption and our vision is to facilitate the adoption process so that more children can live normal lives in happy families.
