About Me

I am a singer/songwriter born and raised in Dunn, North Carolina. I started writing songs and playing the guitar when I was in high school and continued through my prolonged college days at UNC Chapel Hill and Appalachian State in Boone. I am working the day job/writer scene in Nashville now because it's where I know I need to be. But my heart and soul will always belong to North Carolina, and my blood still runs Tarheel blue. I was no standout in high school, but I wasn't really a wallflower either -- I was more known of than known. In college I was a business major with a music minor, but was not satisfied with the prospect working in a purely business environment and abandoning my music upon graduation. So I spent two years completing a second bachelor's degree in music industry studies at AppState. So here I am, 10 years out of high school, intent on achieving my goal of making a life for myself in the music world. I don't know whether I'll be performing, writing, teaching, or just behind the scenes; but music is my life for better or for worse and until I'm convinced otherwise I'll be striving to be in, around, or behind it. If you've seen me play or heard my songs and like what I do, thank you. If you knew me in days gone by and feel like keeping in touch, please do. I promise to keep playing my music as long as I feel that it is my calling, and I appreciate support and encouragement from faces past and present as well as friends old and new.

I figured I'd take a little time to let y'all know where I'm from in NC since I inevitably get asked about the whereabouts of my little hometown whenever I mention that I'm from Dunn.  Dunn, is ...

Christmercialization and the Religion of Retail (this is long)

Now that the crazed days of Christmas are well behind us, and the swells of indignation over the commercialization of our holy holidays has ebbed, we may feel a certain calm and "back to business" me...

And now for something completely different

Though I'm not into the professional sports scene as much as those pathetic "fantasy league" guys, I'll admit I do like watching pro football and pretty much any event where the stakes are more than j...
