"I remember riding my horse, from my house to the General Store, No joke. People did look, stare and shake there head, but no one had a problem with it". Neil says with a smile of rememberance. He grew up in a conservative home with one brother and two sisters, of whom Neil is the youngest. He remembers his father as a honest, honorable and hard working man, who's every thought was for the betterment of his family regardless if it meant much self sacrifice. "I remember sitting in our little country church moving and figgeting around, and all my dad had to do was lean out and look at us, and we knew that was our first and only warning. If we didn't stop the next step was a rapture out of the seat by my fathers big right hand on your collar." He mentions of his mother as the perfect balance to his father, Kind compassionate, careing, and understanding. "One of my best memories as a kid was listening to my father and mother pray together for our family. He grew up with hard work, horses, hunting, fishing, and sitting crosslegged on the floor listening to his father finger pick on his beloved Martin guitar. "My father is probably the most talented guitarist I have ever heard" remarks Neil. Neil started singing as a young child at the top of his lungs, much to the dismay of people in the near proximity, but there was no denying that there was promise in that young voice. When he was a teenager he entered a music competition four hours south of his parents and won first place. He also won first place in the years to follow. He then moved to Knoxville, Tn where he currently resides, and worked as a music director, Chior director, and sang in various venues. Just recently after much persuasion he made a start in country music, and it has started to take off. One of his influences is his dear friend Dwayne Lowe, who also is making quite a splash in country music in this part of TN. Look for NeilGrey in the future, or on second thought you won't have to look you will see him.
