The Synergistic Colloquialism is a name I came up with back in 1984. It's outdate for me now, but I used it for this site. I had a wedding band for about 12 years from 1976-1988 called Soft Touch Music. I have played in rock and blues bands, and country bands. Today I have made a concerted effort to do it on my own, sometimes as a duet with another instrument. I am also a song writer and it is time for me to make a move and publish my work.I should have made a career in music, but I had such a good ear I never learned how to read very well. Also, I was convinced that music was a better hobby, so I went to college and learned all about people. I started with myself. Now I continue to play music for fun, and have come close to doing it for a living many times. I learned to sing at a very early age, and how to sing from the heart. It is very important for people to understand what my words are, so I have had training in articulation and enunciation. Through the years I have known many different types of musicians and philosophys. Working with people as a counselor, therapist, mediator and rehabilitation counselor has afforded me the opportunity to understand and feel people's love and pain. To understand the depth of a simple phrase, and the superficiality of a whole book. I was and will always be an artist, although I have a professional's job by day. When working with people there is an art as well as a science. I find my artistic side to be very beneficial when helping people, and my science side very good when writing songs and presenting my sound. It is a blessing and a curse to feel people's pain and emotion. I long to be on the warm side of things, but my job requires that I work with pain and dispair. There's not enough real love in this world. Not enough.Recently I have performed solo more often than ever before. I love my Taylor guitar. I have had Guilds. Martins, Fenders, Ovations, Gibsons, but to todays date, nothing beats a Taylor. My favorite bass is a Schecter with active electronics. I played a Ovation bass for 30 years, don't ask me why. Never replaced it. One of my dreams is to complete an album "CD" and make Billboard. I welcome your comments regarding my material. Through The Waves is my newest work from November 2008.
