About Me
Born and raised in Asheville, NC. I grew up playing guitars with my Dad. Gospel and country covers were the standards back then, and now I play my own tunes. Went to college in Raleigh, NC - GO STATE - where I started out doing open mic nights thru the encouragement of my friends. On my birthday following my "open mic debut" these same friends surprised me with a very special gift. They decided to ALL chip in and help me buy my first REAL guitar. A Taylor. Best gift I have every received. For two years I was signed with Deep South Entertainment. They helped me form my own band (We were known as the JTB)...and we started playing regular gigs at music clubs around NC. It was a great time and I felt blessed to play with musicians like Robert Shi, John Trice, Needham Park and Mike Sivilli. Thanks to those guys, I was able to turn my little songs into fun little country and rock tunes--and we played some great shows! I managed to win a few contests along the way-was the local winner of the Colgate Country Music Showdown and was a regional semi-finalist in the first Nashville Star production. Out of 8,000 nationwide entries, I was chosen as one of the top 125. Was also a featured artist on WRAL-FM's Homegrown Mix. I recorded my first cd, entitled, Right Now, and have just finished up an acoustic cd, due out in the spring of '06. Currently, I live in Nashville, TN, where I work a full time job in marketing, while I pursue my music--playing gigs around town, recording demos, and co-writing with other artists. It has definitely been a journey, thus far, and I have my family, friends, and fellow musicians to thank. They have encouraged me to put myself out there and pursue my dream. If it weren't for them, I would have never realized quite how much performing and songwriting really mean to me. It has been wonderful to share my songs with others. Kind of like I've gotten to share a piece of myself with my own little part of the planet. Who knows where my music will take me...maybe nowhere....but, I invite you all to come along for the ride. Thanks for visiting my page. Come back and see me again sometime.
Sincerely,
Your girl--Jaclyn
