Puertorriqueño, Vota por Edwin Irizarry Mora
El Mejor Candidato a la Gobernación

Candidato a la Gobernación por el Partido Independentista Puertorriqueño
==========================
For all of you who are in the United States, I recommend you support Ralph Nader for President.
I also favor the Green Party of the United States .
==============================================
I'm 32 years old and live in Puerto Rico. I recently obtained my Master's Degree in Philosophy, and am doing a PhD in History. I am deeply devout Catholic, but I am also progressive in some of my religious views. I have deep devotion to the worship of Jesus Christ really present in the Eucharist, and am devoted to Our Lady, Mother Mary. The following image, made by Freddie Rossa, expresses this deep devotion I have for both of them.
In the realm of politics I'm very left wing. I am in movements which look for Puerto Rico's independence from the United States.
I'm proud of my Puerto Rican nationality and heritage that comes from the mix of three races cultures: the Tainos, the African peoples, and the Spaniards.
I'm deeply anti-corporate, and I favor the doctrine of Progressive Utilization Theory (PROUT) , a doctrine of a society based on Cooperatives and spiritual principles. The PROUT point of view has been endorsed by religious people dedicated to the freedom for the poor and the oppressed such as Leonardo Boff , and also by non-religious people such as Noam Chomsky .
I favor institutions modelled after the famous Bank of the Poor: GRAMEEN .
I like to debate religion and politics but only if they don't involve disrespecting me or others. I hate so-called "debates" which consist basically on name-calling. I also love Philosophy, Theology and Science. As a person I tend to be very caring and very loving. I always try my best to help others in any way I can.
Although I don't consider myself a hacker, I highly value the hacker ethic, and I promote hacker values in and out the realm of programming. This does not mean I promote cracker values (breaking security, creation of viruses, worms or trojans, or attacking other people through cyberspace). True hackers value using programming in their best creative and clever ways to benefit everyone.
I favor software created within the spirit of hackerdom. I'm a big promotor of free software and the GNU Project . I promote the use of the GNU operative system which uses Linux as its kernel, the GNU/Linux operative system.
The GNU/Linux distributions I use are Gentoo Linux and Ubuntu Linux :
I also promote the use of other free operative systems such as FreeBSD .
Due to the fact that Sun Microsystems will no longer support GNU/Linux systems, and advices everyone to move to the proprietary Solaris operative system, I no longer support OpenSolaris. As Sun is saying "So long Linux", I say "So long OpenSolaris, bye!"
Also I'm a big promotor of Free Culture , Creative Commons , Copyright reform, Anti-DRM Campaign , and free (in the sense of "freedom" not in the sense of "no-monetary-cost") music and information.
I'm also an author. Here is the book I recently published on Philosophy of Science and Mathematics, feel free to see it and buy it :D

Underdetermination of Science - Part I: The Relation Between Formal Science and Natural Science
Feel free to buy it in Lulu.com (recommended), Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble .

I'd like to meet:

PLEASE READ!!!!!:

I can accept everyone from every belief system, almost every political view as friend, so don't worry too much about it. I can accept pagans, wiccans, hindus, moslems, jews and... of course... Christians of all kinds. I can have Republican friends, Democrat friends, far right friends, far left friends, far middle friends, capitalist friends, socialist friends, politically neutral friends, etc. etc. etc. But there are just few simple conditions for me to accept you.

1. You cannot have your profile in "Private" unless I know who you are. If you have it in "Private", I don't know you, and I have no possibility to know you through MySpace, or you do not provide an alternate profile (let's say in MSN or Yahoo!), then I will not accept you. If I took the initiative of adding you desptite your profile being in "Private", don't worry too much about this rule :D.

2. You cannot place as comments people having sex. Sorry! My rules! If you want to post some sexy image of women, that's fine, just as long as it has some good taste and limit. Just no image of them having sex. And please, avoid posting women masturbating.... :P. I think there are more artistic and clever ways to express sensuality. See the images in my comments to have an idea of what I'm letting people place in comments.

3. I don't mind if you are religious. As I said, I'm a very devout Catholic. But I will not accept people who are fanatics, damn people to hell, or worse... damn ME to hell for not accepting that God has sent them. If your space was created to promote Creationism or Intelligent Design ... sorry... That's a no no! As you can see in my "Top Friends", Darwin is one of my very best friends. I will not accept any sites with religious intolerance, or sites that promote racial hatred, hatred against homosexuals, or hatred of other religious beliefs. Satanist spaces are not allowed either. Satanism is nothing more than intolerant Anti-Christianity, the Anti-Christian fanatics. And most of all, I will not accept Anti-Catholic spaces. I can accept it if your space, for rational reasons, rejects religion, Christianity or Catholicism. Just don't make your space consist on blaspheming my Church or Christianity ... ok? You respect my religious beliefs, and I'll respect your beliefs. Deal? Deal!

4. If your site is about promoting your body, and more of your body, and much much much of your body without anything else except your body ... then I will not accept you. Sorry, although I do like sexy women, and have much of them as friends, I'm more attracted to qualities such as intelligence, good heart, and if they have something more interesting to offer than just their body. Besides, I'm not looking for any girlfriend. Just friends on the net with whom I can share my thoughts and ideas respectfully. So please, don't waste your time, if the only pictures your have are the ones showing your front and behind, telling me that you are available or divorced and that you're looking for a relationship. I'm not THAT kind of person.

5. I make lots of political and religious comments. In certain occasions I will express views people won't like. Sometimes I'll agree with conservatives on some issues, sometimes I'll agree with progressists on some issues, sometimes I will not agree with anyone. I'm politically incorrect in many ways. You don't like it? I'm sorry. You are, of course, invited to debate me on any issue you want. However, you are not permitted to insult me, nor to insult any other person who participates in the political discussion in my blog. Offensive comments will not be permitted in my space, sorry! Either you carry on a civilized conversation or debate, or leave good comments, or else I'll delete your comments and blog replies. If it goes too far, I might even block you. Please, don't make me adopt such an unpleasant measure.

6. Although I'm not exactly a fan of heavy metal or experimental music, I love gothic people. Don't know why. However, if you wish to add me, then you want me to like you, not to visit your overwhelming horrible space with a freaky picture of you, and make me want to run away! I don't mind some bits of horror or blood here and there. But don't make you space in such a way, that I get really sick ... ok?

As long as you follow these rules, I'll be happy.

Also, you can feel free to add me to your MSN Messenger ([email protected]) or Yahoo! Messenger (prosario_2000). PLEASE BE SURE TO HAVE A PROFILE IN MSN OR YAHOO! (whichever the case) IF YOU WANT ME TO ACCEPT YOU. IF NOT, PLEASE SHOW ME A PLACE WHERE YOUR PROFILE IS DISPLAYED. Don't mean to be rude or anything, but I'm tired of people asking for cybersex, or people who want to preach at me, or men who are horny and want to "talk" to me thinking that I'm a woman .... Please, provide, at the very least, a good profile. I'm not asking for more. And pleaaaaaseeee, don't add me to your messenger and then ask me to call you without telling me who you are. I WILL BLOCK YOU AND NOT CALL YOU. As I said: At least have the courtesy to tell me who you are, THEN I will decide whether I call you or not.

Music:

I love all series of artists such as Gilberto Santa Rosa, Juan Luis Guerra y 440, Olga Tañón, El Gran Combo, Diana Krall, Shania Twain, Dido, among other artists. However, I try my best not to buy from RIAA labels, unless I consider they are really really worth it.

Most of my support goes to independent artists and labels. Here is my favorite record label:

My favorite artists from Magnatune are Lara St. John, Lisa DeBenedictis, Ehren Starks, Baroque Philarmonia Orchestra, Suzanne Teng, American Baroque, Anamar, Brook Street Band, Laurel Zucker, Kitka, Shane Jackman, Stellamara, Marginal Prophets, among others.

I know that many of you are asking, well, if it's not Magnatune.com, how will I know that the CD I'm buying is from a record label that belongs to the RIAA? Very easy. Use the:

RIAA Radar

Also, you may look in the following site, where you will find lots of high quality, independent music:

CD Baby

Other independent labels are using more progressive views ..right, and they are also using Creative Commons Licenses extensively. Here are two of them.

Loca Records

Fading Ways Music

I like all kinds of movies except cheap horror movies, or movies with very poor plots. My favorite movies are Star Wars (except Episode I), Star Trek (except the first movie), Mary Poppins, The Pirates of the Caribbean, Morlang, Alexandra's Project, Agata and the Storm, Le Grand Voyage, The Middle of the World, Inch'Allah Dimanche, Marion Bridge, The Libertine, Stephen Hawking's Universe, The Elegant Universe, Universe: Cosmology Quest, Underworld, Good Night and Good Luck, Steamboy, Spirited Away, Jumanji, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, Castle in the Sky, The People v. Larry Flynt, Batman Begins, Dances with Wolves, Carmen, St Paul, The Corporation .... among many many others.

Television:

Mostly I watch the news, but I also like Monk, House, Psych and Law & Order Series. Also watch a lot of documentaries in the Discovery Channels and TLC. Love cartoons, like the Superman cartoon series, the Batman cartoon series (not the "The Batman" series), the Justice League, Bugs Bunny and company (the old cartoons), Family Guy, American Dad, among others.

I also watch TeleSur .., "Nuestro norte es el Sur":

Books:

My favorite is the Bible. My all-time favorite book after the Bible is The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Also love philosophy books such as Aristotle's Metaphysics, Kant's Critique of Pure Reason and Edmund Husserl's Logical Investigations. I also absolutely love Hans Küng (great theologian), specially his book Does God Exist?. I love many books written by Leonardo Boff, but none like these: Trinity and Society, Francis of Assissi, Sacraments of Life: Life of the Sacraments, The Maternal Face of God, and The Destiny of Man and the World. In the field of science I like Brian Green's The Fabric of the Cosmos, Eric Lerner's The Big Bang Never Happened and Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time. Also in some of my activism in free software and copyright reform I like Richard M. Stallman's Free Software; Free Society, Lawrence Lessig's Free Culture , and Siva Vaidhyanathan's Copyrights and Copywrongs. Other books about other religions or thought paths, I like Kenneth Wapnick's Forgiveness and Jesus and A Vast Illusion; Buddhism by Edward Conze, The Idea of the Holy by Rudolf Otto, and After Capitalism: PROUT's Vision of a New World by Dada Maheshvarananda.

Heroes:

Jesus Christ, Mother Mary, Mahatma Gandhi, Emma Goldman, Ramón Emeterio Betances, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Monseñor Oscar Romero
