Influences:
“Like nothing you’ve ever heard before, (Mozart meeting Bob Dylan or Dolly Parton?) each song has it’s own unique flavour that makes their set so pleasurable and exciting” -bbc.co.uk

“Unique and very memorable”-NME

“In Barry Adamson's dreams, The Duckworths are the house band... meticulously refined excellence allied to an unsettling, malevolent undercurrent... Can you imagine how it feels to be the pen pal of a serial killer, presented with a scrupulously assembled bouquet of flowers? Us neither, but we'd imagine it'd probably feel something like this. Yes, THAT good. "-Venue

“It can be a surreal ride, it can be a black comedy or you can play it to your grandma”-Timeout

“Lovely contradiction of sing-a-long songs and inventive instrumentation”-The Guardian

Having toured around England and Europe throughout 2006 and 2007, and consistantly selling out venues across the west, The Duckworths are now releasing their debut album “Moonshine” produced by Jim Barr of Portishead fame. Their previous self produced EP attracted interest from several independant and major record labels, sold thousands and lead to an apprach to provide their music for BBC podcasts and a forthcoming television show.

The Duckworths delight in playing between opposing lyrical, thematic and musical extremes; light and dark, humour and horror, noise and silence. They have played to opera audiences, at the UK DMC turntable finals and were most requested band on Glastonbury festival radio.
