New Music Video, Clambake
We put this music video together by comiling random bits of Mandible Footage mostly from You Tube, some of which we didn't even know had been taken! It also features a clip from our first animation which was made by James Sekular and based on the illustrations of Graeme.
You can check out our first animation HERE .
NEW:Also on ourYou Tube Channelyou can check out new uploaded version ofClambakefrom an Oxjam gig in Bristol. This was the main source of footage for our first music video.
The Mandibles are currently writing and making live recordings in order to produce our first proper album. In the mean time we have a selection of tunes from our first live demo "The Mandibles are Coming" for your listening pleasure.
"Jazz, Swing and dangerous rhythms from this play-anywhere bunch of Bath party people, possibly the best guarantee of a good time currently plying their trade in our fair city.", Bath Fringe Festival Magazine, Apil 2008
"The Mandibles' thirst to entertain combined with their use of the baddest and maddest beats in town mean you'll be left in a frenzied state of arousal!", "Their energetic peformances result in a crazed foot tapping and furious arm flinging", "...they are wildy entertaining in their on-stage prescence, they also have genuine talent", dv8 magazine, April 2008
"Rediculously good energetic jazz/ska band from Bristol/Bath guaranteed to get your feet moving!" Mr Wolfs, Mar 2008
"The ecclectic manner of their gigs and the energetic nature of their audiences made for a cult following", "sweetly sung vocals, romantic sax" Foggy Nation Magazine, Mar 2008
"The Mandibles are a vocal heavy, 40s-style line-up with strong originals blend gypsy jazz, swing, blues, rock 'n' roll and all in between that's good and pure." Bath Chronicle, Feb 2008
"The Mandibles have that ragtime, jazz, bigband vibe going on which they perform with such enthusiasm (not to mention great musicianship) that you simply get drawn into their world. They feature double bass, sax, trumpet, keys and Grahams deep crooning voice. Highly chanrming and perfect for a street party." Ed Cesar, Moles, May 2007
"The Mandibles are a group of talented jazz musicians recently got together who are already causing a scene in the Bath and Bristol area. Amongst other things by busking on the back of fire engines and milk floats!...", "...Just watch see and dance!!" Eazysounds, Spring 2007
"A vibrant performance from a group of superb musicians skilled and familiar enough with each other to experiment when the occasion demands. I'll be looking out for them with their full line up and their dance troop 'The Mandablettes' and wishing them well in putting together their first cd." The Robin Hood, May 2007

Busking on a Green Goddess and a Milkfloat
Recently us Mandibles have been entertaining the streets of Bath with our mobile busking antics, initially driving round with alternate energy driven Milk float with 2 real pianos on it and then parking up and performing on the roof of a Green Goddess fire engine from the 50's. We have had Milsom Street and the Abbey Square jumping with some hot jive and plan to do plenty more in the future, so next time you see either of those vehicles about town be sure to chase them untill they park up and the show begins. Big thanks to Simon and Gav for letting us use and driving round there wonderful vehicles, PEACE AND LOVE.
Photos
We have been very lucky to have had many fabulous Bath and Bristol photographers snap us up at various gigs and opportune moments. Since many such shots are on this site we thought you might like to know who they were and check them out:

Ok so they are the influences we consider head of their respective genres, who also created (and Tom continues to create) the styles of music which we directly take inspiration from and genuinely love with all our hearts. The complete list of influences on all of our musical tastes within and outside the Mandibles is as long as the drop from the top Jerry Lee Lewis suffered when he married his teenage cousin, here are but afew...

Sounds Like: Bricks...softly heaved through wet lakes, weaved up in trumpet cakes. ‘hold me’ hugs in a plummeting side-car, ghosts treading on plums, old bassoons by the Hudson, glazed in honey, crumpled whiskey, staggering Viking tramps to soup queues, hot green liver pains juggled crumpets, hands too buttery to grip. Like Torville and Dean jamming space bop boogie in an underground shower near Estonia 1931. Like say, Rainbow Spinks, Robert Marley and Janis Joplin grating cheese in breaks between performances. Or listening to the pig opera on amoxicillin, upside down on a rainy day. Coating fearsome creatures in pink paint with a long brush in a small sealed chamber, whistling pop hits. Thumb-wrestling a rabid lesbian Lebanese shitsu for cola cubes or death. Bragging about French-kissing old ladies.
