~REST IN PEACE TOM ROBERTS ~If youre going to start a band usually what guys do to get a feel of one another is start off by playing some covers of more reputable bands like Black Sabbath or AC DC. Many would be rockers have been able to make a decent living by playing other peoples songs but its not about the money right? Its about how cool the tunes are and how fun they are to play! Listening to a few songs from Pig Champion proves this point. They are from Vista California. The first thing I noticed when I heard Pig Champion was how tight the drumming is and thats important if youre in any type of band especially if your songs are going to include a lot of drum rolls. The vocals had the text book (Im not a singer but I sing in a band) style thats hard not to enjoy. Some people think if youre going to cover a song it has to sound exactly the same as the original but that isnt so. As long as the song isnt butchered the band will be respected for recognizing great music and thats what Pig Champion does.These guys have a profile on myspace.com so if you can look past all the jocks showing off their abs and all the geeks who want to be your buddy give these guys a listen and dont Cop an Attitude Just enjoy the tunes dude.
