About Me

Get Code | Create Your Own!Country boy, city boy, music architect, musician, producer, and MC, are all adjectives to describe CuTTy Dre. He combines a big city sound and an energy with a peaceful country instrumentation that we like to call alternative Hip-Hop. Born in Phoenix AZ, raised in Keysville Ga and schooled in Washington D.C and now resides in The Capital of California Sacramento. Sacramento is where he started his Hip Hop career. After wining the B.E.T True Artist Talent search, Judge Magic Johnson Called CuTTy Dre's Band the most original group he had seen in a long time. Currently CuTTy Dre is preparing to release his debut album called "Longer Than The Summer" as well as partnering in opening a new studio in downtown Sacramento CA called 916 Factory. CuTTy also is very involved in starting several new indie company's. CuTTy Dre has been a valuable part of many Indie companies and bands since arriving in California in 1995. First by helping start a soul band called Hard Head Committee. The founding members of Hard Head were: Gary Devon Dotson, Vernon Fulove, Andre' Carpenter, Cedrick Pinkney, Lamont Blackshire, Ashwut Rodriguez, Marriana Souza, Camille, and Jermaine Madison. Hard Head toured California Playing such venues as Hip-Hop at the Capital, the California State Fair, BikerFest in Hollister, Jeffery's, The Gavin, Club Echelon, Oak Park concert series, Harlow's, The Press Club, Mood Swings in Country Club Plaza, The Jamaica House, The Brick House, The House of Blues, Paramount great America, also opening for artist such as Dewayne Wiggins of Tony, Toni, Tone, E-40, Case , Original Heads, Soul Clap, Brown Falines, In 1999 with revenue generated from shows CutTTy Dre partnered up with band member Lamont to open a studio. They quickly begin to outsource production to many of the local record companies like Black Market Records with the help of producer "Digital" Darren Harris who worked with such artist as the late great 2pac Digital Underground and bay area group 415. After working with Digital for a few years CuTTy decided to venture out on his own and vowed to take the business of music more serous. In early 2001 CuTTy became an ASCAP writer member. That same year with a newly formed band called "OnLyve" Veronica Williams, Andre Carpenter, Ashwut Rodriguez, and Euldrego Johnson, he entered The B.E.T True Artist Talent Search after seeing an ad on B.E.T CuTTy Dre quickly called his band members and informed them of the opportunity. That same day they cut a live demo and sent it in "we can at least try" says CuTTy and try they did. Only days later they were invited to be in the first round of the show at Paramount Great America where they hands down took first place and moved on to the finals in Los Angles at the House of Blues. They took 2nd place, however the connections they made would come to be much more valuable. Within min. of getting off the stage B.E.T Host Hits from the streets made a comment that he thinks he knows who the winner might be. CuTTy Dre was approached by Magic Johnson and A&R Walter Young where they discussed Magics new Label starting with new artist Avant, he called CuTTy Dre and his band the most original group and that they definitely had mass appeal. Although this did not lead to inking a deal with Magic it gave CuTTy Dre the motivation and confidence he needed to continue his career in music. By 2003 CuTTy Dre started H2c Publishing to provide a home for songwriters that would ordinarily not have their music heard. Artist's like new singer/songwriter Tabbetha Hargrove "NATIVE" as well as industry vet Dani Hobbes who has Worked as choreographer/dancer with such artist's as Beyonce', Will Smith, Usher, and many more. CuTTy Dre has been leading a charge for the top of the world as he likes to say, since he picked up his first instrument as a young child. Over the years CuTTy has had to add new skills to his repatwa such as scoring his first full length Indie film called "When A Woman's Fed Up" as well producing the sound track to the film that is now being entered in film festivals by Director Wes Carter. CuTTy Dre is quickly on his way to establishing himself a one the the Premier producers in his region by helping spark other companies such as N.V.E Records based in San Diego Ca, US Entertainment, and the new studio 916 Factory based out of Sacramento Ca. Over the next few years CuTTy Dre plans to take these company's to a position of prominance in the music industry. It's only a matter of time before true talent reviles itself to the world and CuTTy Dre is overflowing with it. CuTTy Dre's ultimate goal is to be the number 1 selling artist and company in the world. Satisfying all the musical needs of customers of all kinds. CuTTy Dre Plans to release his debut album and continue to produce music for film as well as work on some films of his own coming soon. CuTTy Dre is the future of music a Music Architect the builder of anything.
