FOOLISH
BIOGRAPHYFoolish. The name itself draws raised eyebrows from some, cynical grins from others, and raises the anticipation and attention level of all. Quite often, the mention of the name simply leaves most listeners unprepared at best for the message and sound of this budding musical talent.
Primarily, Foolish has spent his brief musical career in the background perfecting the craft of music-production and engineering. Working with local artists or with out-of-state talent, Foolish has always been quick to shy away from the spotlight. It was in August 2004 that he launched his own home-based studio and production company and in so doing began pursuing his call of evangelism and ministry through hip-hop. Soon after, he partnered with Don Tony in January 2006 to form the indie label La Familia Muzik to which he dedicates most of his time developing artists, coordinating projects, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the label.
Though he has been a born-again Christian since April 1997, has been producing and performing his signature brand of hip-hop since January 2001 while a student at Florida Southern College, and has been involved in over 100 live events opening for the likes of Gotee Recording artists KJ-52 and Paul Wright, Crossmovement and Crossmovement Records artists Da’ T.R.U.T.H., Lecrae, and Flame, as well as other national acts such as Group 1 Crew, Trip Lee, Urban D., Canton Jones, and DecembeRadio, Foolish is only now beginning to comprehend God’s plan for his life, gifts, and talents. To spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and the salvation He offers at all costs.
“I’ve loved music since I was a young child. I’ve been involved with music since I was twelve-years old. More importantly, I’ve loved God and learned His truth for over eight years. Over that time period, I’ve grown, developed, and matured not only in my music but in my faith. I’m not out to change the world, just to change the worlds of individual people one life at a time.†With this in mind, Foolish delivers a relevant message of Christ’s transforming power, His call for repentance and sacrifice, and His promise of love, peace, and eternal life to today’s generation.
Blending an array of musical styles and sounds, Foolish hopes to bridge many cultural gaps found within our society. “I can vibe with almost anything, and I’d like to think of myself as multi-faceted, but I definitely draw influences from specific artists such as Tonex, Shawn McDonald, Switchfoot, and Mat Kearney. Rewind the clock back a little, and I can say that many secular artists have moved my ear as well. Queen, DMX, Eminem, Timbaland, Bone Thugs and Harmony, John Williams, Gustav Holst, Michael Jackson. The list goes on.†To make music that can speak life to every person regardless of ethnic background, social status, or even musical preference is his aim and purpose.
