About Me
BIOGRAPHY
“I want to bring this message as hard as I can. As real as I can. I want to make music that reaches people whether they’re in the streets or in the church.†No small task for a Christian artist in these days and times. Nonetheless, Ryan places all obstacles, doubts, and stereotypes aside and simply sings about his Father with the voice he has been given.
At 20 years of age, Ryan Horton is the youngest member of La Familia Muzik. Contributing another invaluable facet to this already diverse label, Ryan adds an extremely gifted vocal talent capable of singing soulful melodies and crisp harmonies. Even better still, he is just beginning. Graduating from Harrison School of the Arts in Lakeland, FL, Ryan has been surrounded by musical influences since a young age and has listened, learned, and developed his unique artistic approach to music and ministry.
Over the years, Ryan has had the opportunity to sing for the highest rated choirs at his school, even performing at the renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City. He has sang and led in many praise and worship bands for his church and still leads on occasion to this day. During 2004, Ryan performed alongside hip-hop artists Carlito P. and SYD to form the group Seeds of Worship (S.O.W.). In 2006, the group disbanded and each artist continued on in his own individual ministry under La Familia Muzik.
While still recording features and solo tracks of his own, Ryan is currently performing live at events both on a local and national level having opened for artists such as Kirk Franklin, Edwin Hawkins, Verity recording artist Keith “Wonderboy†Johnson, Gotee recording artists Paul Wright and KJ-52, Crossmovement and Crossmovement Records artists Da’ T.R.U.T.H., Lecrae, and Flame, as well as other national acts such as Group 1 Crew, Urban D., and DecembeRadio.
Continuously studying talent such as Toby Mac, Kirk Franklin, and J. Moss, Ryan hopes to not only grow and develop his musical skills, but also seeks to learn how to effectively minister the gospel of Jesus Christ to his generation without losing focus of the purpose and essence of the message he conveys. Humility and sacrifice. Love and mercy. Hope and redemption. Proving with both his voice and his life that God is the reason why he sings.
