Pierre-Yves Macé

born 1980, France, i live and work in paris. active as a composer of "experimental" new music, i work in different fields, ranging from contemporary composition to electronica and pop stuff. when i use electronics, i'm particularly interested in the transformation / deterioration of acoustic sound, or of any previously recorded source (old french "chansons realistes" for my current project, "le livre des passages"). my work for stand-alone instruments is partly inspired by english / american experimental music, an heritage which i'm eager to extend by using space as a relevant parameter of composition and by trying to find new ways of listening that could at the same time fit and criticize our new habits and practices in that field. i released "faux-jumeaux" on john zorn's label tzadik (2002), "circulations" on sub rosa (2005), and "crash_test ii (tensional integrity)" on orkhestra (2006) with quatuor pli. i appear as a mixer & arranger on that summer's "clear" (talitres, 2005) and on "second souffle", on's second album (brocoli, 2007) i also did some mixing (that summer, louisville, sylvain chauveau) and mastering (rainier lericolais). check the myspace pages of my parallel projects : anita drankhsal (pop songs) and hong kong police terroriste organisation (french spoken words / electronic music)I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
