Specializing in mixtapes, clubs, performing, and various roles a DJ plays, Tommy Blak is constantly proving that he is here to stay. He appeared on the Los Angeles Hip Hop scene in 2002 djing various emcee battles and became the go to guy for hard hitting beats. His unique selection became a favorite among competitors and spectators alike. Tommy learned early on how to make the crowd move to his beats rather than following the rhythms of other people’s drums. His style and playlist put him in clubs and venues all over Los Angeles as well as in Orange and Ventura counties.
At the end of 2005, Tommy landed the resident DJ slot at Los Angeles’s premier open mic Hip Hop spot, Project Blowed. From this point, Tommy Blak’s name was growing in the Hip Hop community. He rated high with up and coming artists from all over the country by playing their music regularly in clubs and on radio. He took pride in having the best exclusive music before anyone else and this gained him entry into Lord Gang DJ’z, a DJ coalition. Tommy has the ability to make songs that people wouldn’t normally dance to danceable.
By the end of 2007, Tommy was touring and releasing mixtapes nationally. He has shared the stage with Immortal Technique, Redman, Kev Brown, Aceyalone, Masta Ace, Boot Camp Clik, Buckshot, KRS One, Abstract Rude, Tonedeff, PackFM, Typical Cats, Crown City Rockers, Oddisee, Crooked I , Kidz in the Hall, and many more. Tommy Blak is a DJ in the fast lane to recognition with no plans on slowing down.
