MELODICS' DEALIO:
Rhythmic, social commentaries weave through entrancing vocal harmonies and infectious grooves to create what Australia is coming to know as Melodics.
With the intertwining hum of double bass and Rhodes/grand piano, the bounce of live drums, hypnotic harmony of horns and violin and the energy of two of Melbourne’s most promising vocalists, Melodics are sure to have you on side.
Rap fans will become jazz lovers, funk lovers will become reggae fans, blues fans will become dub-heads and the cycle will keep spinning until everyone is confused about what sort of music they even like.
Those critical of hip-hop music will not be able to help being swayed by the contagiously rhythmic and insightful poetics of Jeremedy. Similarly, jazz critics will swoon at the sweet soul sounds of Hue aka Oceans Baroque’s jazz fingers and vocal deliveries. But don’t be confused; Melodics are not hip-hop and they are certainly not jazz, nor are they blues, reggae, dub, soul or funk.
Yes the songs incorporate these genres but Melodics can only be described as music.
