Frozen Moment Series - Volume 1 - November 2006 to March 2007

The Frozen Moment Series is a collection of recorded improvisations that Ryan has performed live over the last six months. They exist for the listener that prefers to listen to the entirety of an improvised mousetrapreplica performance. Unfortunately, it is not feasible for all mousetrapreplica improvisations to have a pressed release, so instead this series will be a 'burn on demand' project. All discs will have individual hand created artwork. Additionally, many of the performances have been taken from the Adelaide Fringe Festival Tour, of which you can read the tour diary in my blog.

The average length of each improvisation is 30 minutes so each individual CD-R disc may have two improvised performances on it, of which you get to choose which ones. Each CD costs $13AUD which includes postage & handling.

To purchase a recording, click on the 'Buy Now' button of the relevant recording, then, write in the 'notes' section of the PayPal transaction which of the other recordings you would like me to put on the disc.

Alternatively, you can purchase these recordings directly via email: [email protected] .

Live at the Stork Hotel 26:05

Melbourne CBD, November 16 2006, with Cheese Excursion
This gig at a venue better known for folky acoustic acts than experimental music reminds us that there is something special about music that is being brought into the world for the first time right in front of your eyes and ears.......
Live at the Stork Hotel - Sample 1
Live at the Stork Hotel - Sample 2
The track 'Ice Cream Lady and 'Broken like a Horse' from this recording appear on the Fragments album. Live at Ruby's 29:54

Belgrave, January 28 2007
Some incredible improvised moments, ranging from noisy rock to mournful serenades.....

Adelaide, March 8 2007, with Tomas Fitzgerald & Cue Therapy F. As part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival

Live at FAD Bar 1 - Sample 3
Live at FAD Bar 2 24:57

Adelaide, March 9 2007, with Tomas Fitzgerald & Cue Therapy F. As part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival
The second night of the tour saw our tour part drag our gear up the stairs into the Gallery at Adleaides FAD Bar. Behind the stage is made entirely of glass panels that overlook the skyscrapers of Adelaides CBD....... Tonights performance bought some slow, fat grooves and some soulful ambient positivity............
The track 'Skyline Beats' was taken from this recording and appears on the Fragments album.
Live at FAD Bar 2 - Sample 1
Live at FAD Bar 2 - Sample 2
Live at FAD Bar 4 27:31

Adelaide, March 12 2007, with Tomas Fitzgerald & Cue Therapy F. As part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival
This cruisy Monday gig saw some warped ambient moments and Eastern flavoured tangents.
Live at FAD Bar 4 - Sample 1
Live at FAD Bar 4 - Sample 2
Live at the Grace Emily Hotel 2 33:23

Adelaide March 14 2007, with Tomas Fitzgerald & Cue Therapy F. As part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival
Tonights gig contained some of the most inspired, mind-bending material mousetrapreplica has produced.....
Live at the Grace Emily Hotel 2 - Sample 1
Live at the Grace Emily Hotel 2 - Sample 2
Live at the Grace Emily Hotel 2 - Sample 3
The track 'A Song for Grace Emily' was taken from this recording and appears on the Fragments album.
Live at the Exeter Hotel 29:15

Adelaide March 16 2007, with Tomas Fitzgerald & Cue Therapy F. As part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival
mousetrapreplica's toughest gig on the tour was tonight. A pub full of drunken punters more accustomed to hearing 'Khe Sanh' was not exactly what was expected...... Some darker moments bordering on aggression can be heard......
Unfortunately the level of my guitar was set too high at this performance which has unfortunately led to some audible distortion in the recording. Nonetheless, I believe the performance is strong enough to overcome this technical concern. Ryan.

Live at the Grace Emily Hotel 3 29:03

Adelaide March 20 2007, with Tomas Fitzgerald & Cue Therapy F. As part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival
Tonights gig confirms the positive relationship between mtr and Adelaide's Grace Emily Hotel. Contains some skull crushing rock moments, plus some of the darkest blues music you have ever heard, sort of a cross between Robert Johnson, Trent Reznor and Arvo Part.
Live at the Grace Emily Hotel 2 - Sample 1
Live at the Grace Emily Hotel 2 - Sample 2
Live at the Grace Emily Hotel 2 - Sample 3
The track 'Utopian Blues in the Key of A' was taken from this recording and appears on the Fragments album.
