Chris Pistorino is a bassist who performs jazz, classical, and contemporary music.
He offers private music lessons to aspiring musicians of all ages and all levels of experience.
Chris is a co-leader of the popular jazz, swing and bossa nova group Lapis Luna featuring the beautiful songstress Shawn Clark which plays regularly in and around New York City.
As a member of the Dixieland band The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn Chris entertains audiences throughout the week both out in Central Park or down in the belly of New York City's subway system and at a string of weekly French Bistro engagements.
Chris is a graduate of The New School of Jazz NYC, where he was educated by accomplished musicians such as Reggie Workman, Buster Williams, Andy McKee, Makanda MacIntyre, Jr. Mance and Arnie Lawrence to name a few.
Currently he is the proud private student of John Schaeffer, retired Principal Bassist of the New York Philharmonic.
You can catch Chris playing every Monday night at 8PM with The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn at Chez Oskar in Fort Green Brooklyn. (corner of DeKalb and Adelphi) and every Sunday at The House 121 East 17th St., btwn. Park & Irving Place 212-353-2121.
