About Me

The Hardcore Comedy Show is the brainchild of Stacy Pawlowski and Mel Fleming (and Blossom helped!). We are very excited about this project because not only does it spotlight Milwaukee’s emerging comedy scene and our local talent but is especially unique because it is an all female show. Females are currently redefining their place in the world of stand up and Milwaukee has a growing group of female comics on par with this national trend. WinkStar Productions, Cactus Club and Custom Tattoo have teamed together to give these ladies a stage with The Hard Core Comedy Show. We hope you will join us at this unique event.

STACY PAWLOWSKI
Stacy Pawlowski has been doing comedy in the Milwaukee area since 1996. A graduate of UWM’s School of the Arts with a degree in theatre, she is co-founder and artistic director of WinkStar Productions; a dynamic and vibrant comedy troupe that specializes in sketch and improv. WinkStar has performed in shows all-across Milwaukee including: UW-Milwaukee, Turner Hall, Comedy Sportz and was featured in The Milwaukee Sketch and Improv Festival in 2006 and 2007. In 2006 her accomplishments in sketch and improv led her to the world of stand-up. Since then, Stacy has dreamed of hosting her own show in the neighborhood she grew up in, Bay View, and is extremely excited to be bringing her fellow female comedians with her to the Cactus Club.
MEL & BLOSSOM
Mel has tried a number of careers before turning to comedy- clown, psychic friend, salad maker, camp counselor, pre school teacher, founder of a skateboarding non profit, journalist, graphic artist, sculptor, painter, and professional crazy person. After taking a cruise through the Caribbean and finally coming to terms with the fact that the Golden Age of Piracy really did end so her dream of becoming a pirate will never come true, she began to dream a new dream: Mel’s new ambition is to become an undercover archaeologist/ cruise ship comedian. In October of 2007, after returning from her life altering journey Mel heeded the advice of her cruise’s comedian, and enrolled in Comedy College. Blossom spent 6 years somewhere (she won't tell the story) before ending up in a rescue Mel volunteered for. The two met in November of 2005 and by January of 2006 Blossom had earned her badges as Mel’s Service Dog, allowing her to follow Mel everywhere making sure Mel doesn’t fall. Blossom took Comedy College as seriously as Mel did and proved to be brains behind their comedic pairing. With Blossom's writing skills and Mel's ability to speak, Blossom and Mel are currently having a blast as comedians. After leaving Comedy College, Mel and Blossom teamed up with two other classmates to form Slow Children, a comedy group that runs an open mic at Bremen Café every Monday since January of 2008. The two have performed at Comedy Sportz, Circle B, Giggles, Jokers, Joke Joint, The Riverwest Commons, Y-Not 3, Full Moon bar, a movie theater in Lake Geneva, and their Grandma’s living room. If you would like to learn more about being an undercover archaeologist Mel and Blossom created a short 3 minute video while trying to win a cruise you can watch by visiting their myspace page.
LIZA MARIE
Liza is a Milwaukee native and has been doing comedy for 3 years. She got her start in sketch comedy and performs with the theatre group "Winkstar Productions." She took an eager interest in stand-up and started performing regularly at the "Free Comedy Showcase" on Friday nights at Comedysportz. Her performance credits include: Times Cinema, Comedy Sportz, Riverwest Commons, Bucketworks, The Alchemist Theater and, “that one show we did in the theater...can't remember the name of the place.” She is currently touring with a hilarious group of female comedians who are not as bitchy as people like to think. She loves to make people laugh and has been quoted as saying, "i love to make people laugh." She also enjoys speaking in the third person.
NOLA J
Nola J is originally from Milwaukee, WI and is now commuting between Milwaukee, Las Vegas and Los Angeles doing comedy. A graduate of UW Milwaukee’s Business School, with a degree in finance, her career as a comic began when she left the corporate world and stopped being politically correct years ago. Entertainment is no stranger to this comic. Her father has been playing saxophone with Little Richard for over 15 years and yes, she does have jokes about Uncle Richard! Nola J’s comedy is as diverse and infectious as her spunky, fun loving personality; leaving audiences from coast to coast begging for more Nola J!In Wisconsin, Nola J is a regular at Giggles Comedy Pub and has performed at Comedy Café, Comedy on State, Jokers, Skyline Comedy Club, Ho Chunk Casino, Mirmar Theater, and Comedy Sportz as well as hosted her own Comedy Showcase in Milwaukee for the last two years. In Las Vegas she has performed at Caesar Palace, Ponders Comedy Club and the Boardwalk Hotel. Nola J has performed for many venues and clubs in California and Chicago and auditioned for Last Comic Standing. Her credits also include sketch and improv comedy with training at Comedy Sportz and Second City in Chicago.
CHRISTY WATSON
Christy Watson graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in screenwriting. She then head-butted Kenneth Branagh and washed Henry Rollins’ underwear. She studied improv and theater in New York and at Comedy Sportz in Milwaukee. Nowadays, she is a stand-up comedian. She has performed at Giggles, Jokers, The Full Moon Bar, The Circle B, The Bremen Café, The Riverwest Commons and One More One Night Stand. “We would describe Christy’s comedy as very smart, edgy and hip but don’t quote us on that. She’s much smarter and prettier than us so we seethe with jealousy every time she’s on stage and don’t want to be caught saying nice things about her,” Mel and Blossom.
