Southern Rockin*Harp Howlin*Twang-Bangin' Baby!

About Me

Muskogee-born and Bakersfield-raised is a pedigree that most country singers would kill for. Stacie Collins lives up to that heritage. Upon her arrival in the Music City in Jan. 01,’ with little money, no place to live, no job, and only 1 friend in town, Collins was full throttle on an uphill climb. Once on the scene Stacie quickly proved that she wasn't your typical Music Row twangstress the moment she stepped back from the mic and unleashed her high-spirited energy on a mean little blues harp. Full of attitude and flair, blowin’ harp is her calling card but it’s Collins’ high-octane live show and raucous sound in which she blends southern rock, Chicago blues and honky-tonk-twang that puts her in a class occupied by very few women. Combine that with a soulful voice and gritty songwriting and you’ve got a recipe for “Kick-Ass”.In October of ..01 Stacie released her self- titled independent CD on which she co-wrote every track. It quickly climbed the Americana charts garnering praise and college radio play worldwide and the first of many European tours soon followed. With an ever growing fan base and tour schedule, Collins decided to cut another record. Enter Dan Baird. Former heart and lead singer of the Georgia Satellites turned producer, Dan caught a showcase at the legendary Exit/In in Nashville and witnessed Stacie cranking her harp through an over driven amp like Little Walter and belting her songs as if she might never sing again. He was mightily impressed.Baird and Collins hit if off and teamed up in the studio and the association has done her good. Released in June of ..07, her new CD titled THE LUCKY SPOT is a ten-song southern rockin', twang bangin' blues romp. If it had been released twenty or thirty years ago this recording would sound as natural on good-times 70s FM radio alongside ZZ top and The Rolling Stones as it would next to recordings by retro-rockers like The Black Crowes and Jason & the Scorchers. When they are not touring, Baird plays in Stacie’s live band as does another guitar great, Warner E. Hodges (Jason & the Scorchers). Armed with a great new record, a live show that makes you say, “damn girl” and a band that makes you wanna be in a band (and if you are in a band, makes ya wanna be in a better one), Stacie Collins is sitting in a sling shot and the arm is drawn back tight. This is one show you won’t want to miss!Click Here

**KIND WORDS FROM THE INDUSTRY** CONCERT AND CD REVIEWS

"On tracks like “It Ain’t Love, “Long Gone,” and “Baby Sister,” you can’t help but kick your boots around the dance floor because you will not be able to keep your feet still..."
"Collins has perfectly taken a honky tonk style, kicked it up a notch, and made a sound that is sneaking it’s way back to the modern format of country radio fresh and new while showing off her influences. This is a great album and from the minute I put it on in my truck it has been the only CD that is in my CD player and it just doesn’t seem to want to come out yet."
Gone Country Magazine, Jeffrey Kurtis

"Saturday's gig was kinda like Sugar Blue meets Kim Wilson and Majic Dick in a dark smoky bar, Ronnie & Keith buy em' a shot. Janis Joplin pays the tab, and then all hell breaks loose. I still can't get my blood pressure stable."Mike (Mac) McIntyre, 97-1fm The Tower, Nashville

"THE LUCKY SPOT... It's an infectious blend of roadhouse country rock fronted by a blues-harp-blowing woman who sings with a desperate passion and a slight Tammy Wynette catch in her voice." Jeff Wall - NO DEPRESSION MAGAZINE Sept/Oct 07' ISSUE

"Stacie Collins will kick your ass, country-style... more important, Collins rocks far harder than Wilson or Lambert, wedding vintage honky-tonk, Chicago blues, and Stones-fried country boogie..." Justin Farrar - THE CLEVELAND SCENE Magazine, Cleveland, OH 6/27/07

"Don't try to put Stacie Collins in any category. It's a combination between The Rolling Stones meets Dwight Yoakam meets James Cotton. Now what the hell do you do with that, besides put it in your pipe and smoke it?" Robbie Clark - W WEEKLY Lexington,KY 6/14/07'

"It took just 10 seconds for Stacie's album to make my jaw drop, what a sound! I like it all: her explosive honky-tonk vocals, wailing harmonica and tasty beats and melodies created by her backing musicians. "The Lucky Spot" blends all those beautiful sounds... It has a huge cross-over potential. It's a stand-out CD!Przemek Draheim - Radio Host /The voice of the Blues www.sfera.umk.pl

"Collins sports a hard-core honky-tonk wail backed by a slam-bang rock and roll band." Grant Britt – MUSIC CRITIC Independent Weekly in Durham, NC / The Greensboro News and Record in Greensboro, NC / Creative Loafing in Charlotte, NC. (excerpt from his blog)

"THE LUCKY SPOT... Country Roadhouse Boogie, which goes animal into the legs… It's a killer!” Review by Bärchen Records / German online record store.

" ...a vocal approach that's smooth as silk and yet tough as nails. THE LUCKY SPOT is well worth dropping your hard earned cash and is for fans of country and/or southern rock music. Get in early and get bragging rights that you discovered an artist before they hit the big time!” Chuck Myden - The North Coast VOICE 6/07

"It takes a lot to thrill me. Tonight, Stacie Collins thrilled me and took my breath away. She is beautiful, sings great, blows a mean harp and has a stage presence that only a rare few possess. She is also a terrific writer. Her originals are killer." Marianne Taylor/Talent Buyer - The Pour House Music Hall -Raleigh, NC

"Collins is anything but the current country fare. She's a no fluff-chick. Her voice is strong, expressive and quite unlike anything you'll hear on radio these days. This heard-it-all critic was quite taken aback by the genuineness of her vocal performance - nothing about it feels contrived or manufactured. This girl's for real." Lee Barish - Cleveland Country Magazine

"Collins has blended the traditional country sounds from her Bakersfield heritage with the rootsy rock and blues that influenced her as a teen. Her voice is strong, expressive and unlike anything you'll hear on country radio today...very impressive, her material is first-rate." Bob Cianci - The River Reporter
