The Dastardlies

Forming at the beginning of 2003 in their senior year of high school. Four friends Bryan Cragg, Matthew Smart, Rick Mayfield and Adam dOliveira from thewest coast town of Nanaimo, BC enjoyed playing at what little venues there were in Nanaimo during the birth and take over of the Emo scene. Playing withgood friends Impetuous Youth and The Decents. The Dastardlies enjoyed a good year of playing. During a time that saw many good bands collapse intonothingness. In 2004 they became one of those band but their brake up would later be described as a brief hiatus. Bryan went off back to school and Adampursued other musical projects. In late 2005 the band was reborn with old and new faces and a whole new look. New addition Cam McGeorge singer/song writerfrom the Goldriver, BC who turned out to be the spark that The Dastardlies needed to get things moving in the right direction. Soon after, they reacquiredthe bass playing of Adam dOliveira after his failed attempts with another band. Attempting to stray far away from the over exposed, over played bands that have plagued the Vancouver Island music scene the past few years, The Dastardliesfirst self titled album is due to be released mid summer 2006. Straying from what is considered to be Punk rock today, but staying true to the old schoolpunk, ska and rock sound with a modern day unique twist and no where to go but up.
