For three years Cloud City have been developing a distinctive sound and a solid live reputation. This strongly bonded quartet combines each individual’s creative talent to weave a tapestry of soul driven riffs, vocal harmonies using unusual time signatures producing a dark and light rock edge. The power to capture with emotions is how Cloud City communicates with the audience.
In May 2006 Cloud City launched their “Self Titled†EP, drawing 550 people to The Esplanade Gershwin Room. Cloud City have played regionally, received airplay on PBS and RRR, including live to air performances.
REVIEWS
"Cloud City came on and just blew me away. The lead singer stands on the left, her voice just brings you in and I'm singing along with the chorus. Sweet vocals, good harmonies from the other guitarist standing in the middle, the bass player watches the others and plays with bass held high. The drums work in behind, leaving room for the full vocals. Think a female Jeff Buckley.
The songs are just great, the band work together beautifully. She is a star, playing some great lead breaks and just wailing in the vocals. The band have songs that you want to sing along with, the guitars rock. In the right hands this band will go places."
-Neil Wedd "the indie initiative"
Neil is insane! He changes the dynamics of the band completely, in a way that makes Cloud City sound alot more progressive. Technically fluent, and drives the songs by placing his accents and fills in the right spots to compliment the music, and I love his use of more unusual time signitures.
