About Me



Geamala in its current line up began early in 2006. the band started with Anthony Connelly writting much of the music as far back as 2003. the recent addition of Luke Wood on vocals/sha kuhachi and even more recent addition of Jesse Bates as drummer/ percussionist has been an amazing and productive transformatoin for the band.we are an instrumental acoustic progressive world music group. geamala have played at many community events, and corporate functions but it is our greatest desire in 2009 to start playing on the folk festival scene.

Influences: Our influences are quite broad and diverse, we like really beautiful ambient ethnic stuff like secret chiefs 3, bjork, royksopp, lux feminae, rodrigo y gabriela, dead can dance, echo, lisa gerrard, massive attack, pedra branca.We also like really heavy rhythmically inspired music like sydonia, meshuggah, tool, insurge, pantera, sepultura, slipknot, a state of flux, system of a down, arch enemy, dimmu borgir, strapping young lad etc.
Sounds Like: We are a well balanced mix between beautiful, hypnotic, mezmerising, meditational ambience and very fast pumping huge complex rhythms.
