Something For Kate have recorded their first official live album. Recorded live at The Corner Hotel in Melbourne on Saturday February 23rd, in conjunction with New Found Frequency, the band recorded their own limited edition Artist Controlled Bootleg which was available to purchase the same night- minutes after the performance. SFK are pleased to announce that we have partnered with New Found Frequency - A Live Music network to create our own *Artist Controlled Bootleg. The February 23rd show at the Corner Hotel, will become a limited edition CD available for purchase that same night. 15 minutes or less after the performance, you can walk out of The Corner with a limited edition CD of the show. This will be available for purchase on the 2nd show on Sunday 24thb Feb also.

THE MURMUR TOUR COMES TO AN END
Well, The Murmur Tour finally finished up in Brisbane with 2 cracking shows at The Zoo on the weekend. The band would like to thank everyone who came along to the shows over the last few weeks - the band had a blast and cant wait to do it all again. THE MURMUR YEARS IS OUT NOW
'The Murmur Years - The Best of Something For Kate 1996 - 2007' is out now. Its been a while coming but we are very excited to finally share it with you. The album, featuring 33 varied songs including the brand new track, "The Futurist" is a beautifully packaged double disc document of the last 10 years of Something For Kate's career so far.
LIVE AT THE PLAYROOM AVAILABLE NOW!
We recently held a competition on the website giving away tickets to a live filmed recording for 'THE PLAYROOM'. The set along with interviews with the band will be aired on Channel V's 'WhatUWant' on Sat 1st Sept.
This live set of songs is now available for download through iTunes. The set features a rare live version of REM's "The One I Love", a solo acoustic version of "Impossible" along with a live version of The Futurist" with live guest vocals from Bertie Blackman plus great live versions of "Down the Garden Path" and "California".

We are very excited to announce the release of 'THE MURMUR YEARS', a retrospective double album that documents a detailed collection of Something For Kate tracks spanning over 10 years of the band's career so far from 1996- 2007. The band have handpicked 33 songs for the album from early EP's, their 5 studio albums, live favorites and covers along with recording a brand new track titled 'The Futurist' written specially to mark the release of this album.
'THE MURMUR YEARS' is to be released in stores now.
SFK iTUNES 'ORIGINALS' OUT NOW!
SFK were invited into the studio to record an exclusive live session for iTunes called an iTunes Original Session. In this session, SFK chose their favorite tracks and captured them live in the studio. The band were then asked to talk about each song giving candid background insights into each. SFK have chosen a great mix of songs,some rare and others that have become live favorites, each a different version never before available in recorded form. 'DESERT LIGHTS' DEBUTS AT No 1 IN AUSTRALIA
We are very excited to announce that Something for Kate's fifth studio album, 'Desert Lights' has debuted at No.1 on the ARIA charts.
The band would like to thank all those who have supported them and very much look forward to going on tour and playing the album live.
ABOUT SOMETHING FOR KATE
Something for Kate are a three piece band from Melbourne, Australia who formed in 1995. The band have to date released five albums, a double album of b-sides,a double Best -Of album, a DVD, a video collection, three e.p's, and too many singles to mention.
After spending most of 2005 writing songs for their fifth album, the band went to Los Angeles to record the latest album,'Desert Lights' with producer/engineer Brad Wood ( Liz Phair, Pete Yorn, Tortoise, Veruca Salt, Ben Lee,Smashing Pumpkins). After 4 months, the album was completed and the band returned to Australia to continue touring.

Desert Lights was released in 2006 and after the band toured substancially, they then released their first compliation, the double album, 'The Murmur Years - The Best of Something For Kate 1996 - 2007'. The band have recently completed touring for this album and are currently taking a few months break whilst SFK singer and main songwriter, Paul Dempsey writes his first solo album. The band are performing again in 2008. See tour dates!
