Mildew-mannered indie record label executive by day, power-popping retro-rocker by night.
JAIMIE VERNON has a long musical history as a live performer and recording artist with such acts as SWindled, MOVING TARGETZ, Swedish Fish, The Hounds, SPARE PARTS and The Richmond Hillbillies [which featured members of SOAP OPERA, MOVING TARGETZ and KiLLeR DwaRfs].
17 years after establishing Bullseye Records and a roster of some of Canada's greatest classic rock institutions, Vernon stepped out from behind his desk and in front of the microphone for a bevvy of power pop and rock originals gleaned from 20 years of songwriting.
Released on Bullseye Records in 2003, 'Broadcasts From The Twilight Zone' was a patchwork of influences from the novelty track "I Am A TV Show" to the Prince-like '80s styled power ballad "The Strength" to the trippy psychedelic "Compound Fractures". Bonus tracks highlight songs by Klaatu, The Sweet, and David Bowie. Vernon showed yet another side of his love of music both as singer, bass player and guitarist.
2006 saw the sophomore release 'Time Enough At Last' featuring a more conceptual song cycle related to the passage of time. Rootsy tunes like the title track and "Pillars Of Time" (written by Cheaper Than Therapy frontman Ivan Judd) and more rock oriented tracks like "Cast Iron Pillow" and "Heart Attack" round out the set. Bonus tracks include songs by Alan Parsons, The Korgi's, and The Church.
2007 will see the release of his third solo CD, also inspired by the TV show "The Twilight Zone", called Nightmare At 20,000 Watts'. The album will be an homage to '60's and '70s Top40 hit radio and its quiet passing in the night set against a make-believe "final broadcast"...complete with DJ's and commercial breaks.

Sell Out, Sell Out...that’s the name of the game

"A lot of decisions I make are considered 'indie', so people assume I operate on an indie set of values. It's funny, because (my fans) let me be on EMI and they'll get upset about (me working for) Nik...

OPEN LETTERS TO THE HUMAN RACE FOR A BETTER 2008

I don't do resolutions. I'm okay with how my life is. Any changes I make aren't suddenly going to be instituted on the first day of a New Year. They're going to come swiftly...usually in an epiphany. ...

The Train Leaving 2007 Has Been Derailed
