THE '80s
* Founded in March 1985 by Moving Targetz band members Jaimie Vernon and Simon Bedford-James along with a publishing company called "Anti-Conscious Music".
* First official release was the 12" EP single "Wonderful World of Moving Targetz" in April 1985.
* Targetz splintered later that year and Simon Bedford-James released a 7" single by his new act Swedish Fish called "She'd Rather Die".
* In 1986 the label released Swedish Fish's second 7" single "How Can You Sleep At Night" which garnered the band a 1986 U-Know/CASBY Award nomination from CFNY-FM.
* In 1987 Swedish Fish splintered into yet another act, Daughaus, who released one album that year called "Something I Stepped In". Bullseye relocates from Toronto to Pickering, Ontario.
* In 1988 Moving Targetz return with a full-length album "Bulletproof" receives college and commercial radio play on CSCR, CFNY and other stations; Re-issues punk band Swindled's 1982 single "Who Wants Guns" and their reunion album 'McJesus'.
* In 1989 Bullseye fields publishing and distribution offers globally during the New Music Seminar in New York City; Bullseye signs three US acts for Canada - Elyse Thorpe (Idaho), Shawn Gardner (Minnesota), The ID (New Jersey)...albums are released by each act later that year; Bullseye launches prototype fanzine "The M.T. Head Express".
THE '90s
* In 1990 Simon Bedford-James returns with solo album "Shopping"; Bullseye partners with Paul Anand Music (P.A.M.) and SoundDynamix studios to create an in-house recording, manufacturing and distribution network in Markham, Ontario; "M.T. Head Express" becomes 'Great White Noise' fanzine with a bi-monthly circulation of 1,000 copies; Bullseye and PAM release first-of-its-kind independent CD compilation "Unsigned, Sealed & Delivered, Vol.1" featuring notable acts The Kings (of "Switchin' To Glide" fame") and King Apparatus who would go on to be signed to Raw Energy/A & M from popularity of their appearance on this compilation.
* In 1991 Moving Targetz release 2nd full-length album "eMpTy'D" and self-destruct by year's end; Bullseye and P.A.M. relocate to downtown Toronto and receive grant from the Ministry of Communications to release 5 more "Unsigned, Sealed & Delivered" CD titles...two of which are released this year featuring a total of 36 acts...many of whom go on to major label recording/publishing deals; 'Great White Noise' becomes a dual-sided magazine with 'Absolutely Indie'...the first flip-cover format of its kind in Canada...increases circulation to 5,000 copies on newsprint; Bullseye becomes independent Canadian distributor for such acts as Brass Bikini, Facepuller, Daed 21 and Red Baron.
* In 1992 Bullseye releases its final three "Unsigned, Sealed & Delivered" compilations....Volume 5 is the label's most successful title with sales of over 2500 units worldwide through distribution deal in Europe with Interplanet Music. Acts on the disc included Carl Dixon (Coney Hatch), Picture Comes To Life, Jeff Jones (Red Rider, Carpet Frogs), Virginia Storey (Caramel), Walter Zwol (Brutus), Kenny MacLean (Deserters, Platinum Blonde); 'Great White Noise' increases circulation to 10,000 copies bi-monthly.
* In 1993 'Great White Noise' ceases publication.
* 1993 - 1995 Bullseye releases three albums...."Out Of The Doghouse" by The Hounds; "Philosophers' Lounge" by Philosopher's Lounge; "Crisis? What Crisis?" by Spare Parts.
* In 1996 Bullseye releases two albums..."Four Wedding Bands And A Flannel" (Various Artists) and "Steeped" by Sharon'SISTER; Bullseye signs former Klaatu member Terry Draper to 3 year recording contract.
* In 1997 Bullseye releases Terry Draper's solo debut "Light Years Later" followed later that year by a live CDRom "Live...Years Later: From The Cue To The 'Shoe'; Bullseye relocates to Ajax, ON.
* In 1998 Bullseye signs second former Klaatu member Dee Long to a 3 year recording deal and releases a 6 song EP called "Digital" later that year; also releases "Around The Universe In 80 Minutes: A Tribute To Klaatu"; Bullseye signs Canadian distribution deal with fledling distributors Indie-Pool in Toronto; Bullseye begins distributing Canadian indie bands Donkey and The Clarke Institute; Bullseye moves offices back to Toronto.
* In 1999 Bullseye releases Dee Long's "BHB4" collection; "Men In Plaid: A Tribute To The Bay City Rollers" with full-approval and co-operation of the original members of the Bay City Rollers. Former band members help promote release during a convention in Toronto that year; Terry Draper's children's CD "Can You Pretend?"; Bullseye distributes blues guitarist Rick Robichaud's self-titled release; Bullseye enters into deals with Not Lame, Jam Recordings, To M'Lou, Hungry Hippo and other small power pop indie labels in the US for Canadian rights; Bullseye signs Soap Opera featuring former Moving Targetz member Stacey Washington to a recording deal and releases "Poised", mixed by Terry Brown (Rush, Klaatu).
THE '00s
* In 2000 Bullseye signs 7 album licensing deal with Greg Godovitz for GODDO's back catalogue and The Carpet Frogs album "Frog Curry"; purchases the distribution rights to David Quinton's 1980 self-titled debut; signs licensing deals and releases best-of packages by Silverlode, Figures At Dawn, The Fast and Brutus; signs Jeff Jones (Red Rider, The Carpet Frogs) to solo recording deal and releases debut CD "Positive". Album begins to get commercial radio play; Releases three studio albums and a new live 'best of' called "2nd Best Seat In The House" by Goddo.
* In 2001 Bullseye signs 3 year Canadian distribution deal with KOCH; delves into the publishing business by releasing Greg Godovitz's (Fludd, Goddo) autobiography 'Travels With My Amp'...does national media campaign helping to sell nearly 4,000 copies of the book; signs 5 year/5 album licensing deal with Klaatu for their back-catalogue; re-issues Goddo's "Kings Of The Stoned Age"; Killer Dwarfs agree to reunite and Bullseye signs band for live recordings which are released as simultaneous CD/DVD release "Reunion of Scribes"; signs deal with Randy Bachman for Guess Who and Brave Belt anthology packages; records the final show at the legendary El Mocambo by blues act Mainline; re-issues by Moxy, The Dishes, Segarini, Dave Rave's "Valentino's Pirates", The Shakers 'best of'; The Florida Razors 'best-of'; signed solo recording contract with Tom Hooper (ex-Grapes Of Wrath) for his debut solo disc "The Unexplored Cosmos"; Bullseye signs The Kings to licensing deal for a re-issue of their "Party Live in '85" CD...sends band to Los Angeles to perform at the International Pop Overthrow Festival; finished goods for Kick Axe CD re-issues through Rewind Records in the US; release of Terry Draper's "Civil War", and Dr.Lotech's "Journey Into Light"; Bullseye launches the Christmas compilation CD featuring all Canadian acts, including Randy Bachman, Tom Hooper, The Kings and Carpet Frogs called "Taking Care Of Christmas"....CD becomes a perennial radio hit; Bullseye hires VP of Promotion & Publicity Lisa Millar.
* In 2002 Anger Brothers featuring Greg Godovitz and Bob Segarini self-titled debut is released...band promptly self-destructs; re-issued Klaatu's "Hope" and "Peaks" packages; signed solo deal and released 'Stranger In The Mirror' by John Boswell...debut single "Forgive Me" goes Top-20 on CHUM charts nationally...two videos follow...and Boswell is nominated for an East Coast Music Award as Pop Artist Of The Year; video and single for Tom Hooper's "Same Old Me" released; recording deals signed and releases launched by The Kings ("Because Of You"), Maureen Leeson ("aka Moe"), Jaimie Vernon ("Broadcasts From The Twilight Zone"); licensing deals for Killer Dwarfs' "Stand Tall" (with SONY Music), Rubber's "Weight Of The World", and Bruno Gerussi's Medallion "In Search Of The 4th Chord"; release of two 'best of' live records by Moxy ("Raw") and Mainline ("Last Show @ The Elmo"); Bullseye sends recording acts to both the Chicago and New York International Pop Overthrow Festivals; Bullseye signs licensing deal with Honeymoon Suite for "Lemon Tongue"...their first studio album in 10 years; Dee Long releases first new studio recordings "Outside"; tribute CD to The Sweet called "Are You Ready, Steve?" sells out its initial pressing in under 2 months; Soap Opera records sophomore album "Ladies And Gentlemen...Welcome To The Tangiers" at Morin Heights in Quebec with producer Terry Brown; Bullseye hires label manager Stacey Washington and moves into permanent office in Scarborough.
* In 2003, new distribution deal with FUSION III in Canada and Burnside Distribution in the United States; first new Goddo album "Kings Of The Stoned Age" mixed by Andy Curran (Coney Hatch); finished goods deal with Michael White & The White and comedian Glen "That Canadian Guy" Foster; launched Dave Rave's solo CD "Everyday Magic" gets North American promotional boost with The Grand Song Caravan Tour also featuring US artists Kate Schrock and Joe Mannix in conjunction with Bongo Beat Records of Vancouver culminating in a performance by Dave Rave at The Cavern Club in Liverpool; Dave Rave and Jaimie Vernon both perform at IPO in Los Angeles; solo deal with former Moving Targetz frontman Ivan Judd as Cheaper Than Therapy called "Terminal Adolescence"; recording deal and release of Cats & Dogs second CD "This Life" featuring Bob Segarini; Soap Opera changes line-up and their name to The First Time, begin recording with award winning producer Warne Livesey (Matt Good, 54.40, Midnight Oil); re-issues of Klaatu's "Endangered Species" and "Sir Army Suit"; Bullseye signs Wild T & The Spirit for first new studio recording in 10 years called 'True Bliss'; releases Terry Draper's 'best of' 'Aria 52: A Five Year Mission'.
* In 2004 Bullseye releases The First Time's "It's On" CD, Creighton Doane's "Learning More & More About Less & Less"; DVD's by Rubber ("Live At The Gods 2002) and Glen "That Canadian Guy" Foster ("Shot At The Empire"); film producer Sylvan Bell uses 100% Bullseye acts for the soundtrack to his B-Movie slasher flick "The Night They Returned"; Bullseye signs licensing deal with Geoff Gibbons for his 3rd studio record "Sentimental Maniac"; Bullseye releases 75 song, 3 CD Beatles tribute CD "It Was 40 Years Ago Today" to international critical acclaim and huge sales; Bullseye signs Canadian distribution deals for finished goods with US acts Kate Schrock and Joe Mannix; Bullseye releases compilation of Canadian Classic Rock rarities called "When CanCon Rocked, Volume 1".
* In 2005....Bullseye celebrates 20 years in Canadian music!; Bullseye signs digital distribution deal worldwide with DMGI of San Francisco; Bullseye signs co-operative distribution deal with Revolver Records UK -- allowing Revolver's "Light Of Day: A Tribute To Bruce Springsteen", Leo Sayer's "Voice In My Head" and The One Three's "Life Goes On" to get domestic release in Canada; Klaatu reunites to promote the Bullseye exclusive boxed set release "SunSet: 1973 - 1981" for the first time in 23 years; Bullseye re-issues the Bomb Records catalogue masters "Gotta Have Pop", "On The Radio", "Goodbye LA" from Segarini and Twitch's "Twitch & Shout"; Dee Long releases 'Long Live & Prosper' -- a live performance enhanced CD; The First Time are sent to Japan for a promotional tour; Goddo becomes a 4-piece with the departure of Gino Scarpelli and the addition of Brad Lovatt (Anger Brothers) and Steve Schelski (Coney Hatch)
* 2006...Bullseye picks up Canadian licensing for the Ian Anderson DVD/CD package "Ian Anderson Plays The Orchestral Jethro Tull"; Bullseye signs finished goods distribution deals with Jamie Dart, Melanie Joy, The Zoo and others in an effort to promote new talent; Bullseye revives its famed 'Unsigned, Sealed & Delivered' compilation series; Bullseye releases two award winning anthology discs by Dave Rave; Cheaper Than Therapy's Ivan Judd gets co-starring role in SV Bell's direct-to-video movie production of "She Demons Of The Black Sun" which also includes the Therapy title track "Isabelle"; former Moving Targetz/Cheaper Than Therapy backing vocalist Sharon Judd releases her debut album "Somebody Else's Life" under the pseudonym Velvet Hammer; Original Swedish Fish members Simon Bedford-James and Martha Bouchier revive the band and begin recording first new album since 1988's "Light Side Of The Moon"; Label president Jaimie Vernon releases his sophomore CD 'Time Enough At Last' and does opening slots for Dee Long on a promo tour of Ontario.
*2007...Bullseye launches new-talent label Frontline Records with Lisa Millar as its president; Klaatu's "Magentalane" finally gets the remaster treatment and is released exclusively in the US; Bullseye president Jaimie Vernon decides to go international with live shows in Chicago and Liverpool; Cheaper Than Therapy releases its sophomore CD "Forbidden"; The First Time return to the recording studio with Andy Curran (Coney Hatch/Soho 69) and Juno Award winner Vic Florencia to record 'TakingBreakingDown'...touring follows including an opening slot in Massachusetts for Heaven & Hell/Alice Cooper/Queensryche; Bullseye gets North American rights to Harem Scarem's "Early Years" and "Human Nature" CDs; Bullseye signs finished goods deals with Viletones, Sapphire City and the re-issue of 1960s Ottawa legends The Townsmen; Bullseye signs legendary singer Ronnie Hawkins to a finished goods distribution deal. .
